The disparity in athletes and athletic talent had a lot to do with that as well. Their QB had a pop gun arm and the talent gap between the two teams were night and day. There won't be that talent gap this Saturday against Ole Miss. I expect them to implement a lot of the same principles that MTSU did but with the talent to get the results.
Did you notice any of MTSU's WRs? 6' 3" and all around 200+. A LOT of those guys were Power 5 rejects!! They either couldn't get in a Power 5 school due to grades or flunked out. Very similar to JSU to some degree. MTSU was a upper classmen laden group with the exception of the QB. Granted, the kid has less than a pop gun arm though. More like a wet towel! Tyrone Nix is also their DC and he is known for screwing with a QBs head. I would give Stockstill and his crew a little more credit.
