I know its inevitable and I will hate to see him go, but according to reports he is taking a viisit this week to Ole Miss. First I think that school is a deadend job for a HC. But I can't help but wonder if say he does decide to take the job there would he wait until after out bowl game, wherever that may be?

I just remember the 2008 year where assistants jumped to jobs following our deflating loss to Florida or close to the Sugar Bowl. I think some of that plus the Andre Smith distractions hurt us in preparing for that game, along with the hangover from getting Tebow'd in the 4th quarter.

Hopefully Kirby will be patient and pick a better job than Ole Miss. If he does leave I just would prefer he leave after our final game hopefully in the BCSNCG.

lol, i had nothing worthwhile to add to the thread, but i do feel it is obviously inevitable and i will be sad to see him go!

but considering they gave nutt 6mil just to leave, i'm sure they'd make him a nice offer. maybe we can up it

Well, you can add openings at Kansas, Illinois, Memphis,Arizona State, and UAB to the list of needing a head coach. As stated before, Ole Miss is career suicide! IF you can handle 6-8 win seasons, then go ahead. Problem is, the people at Ole Miss think they are so much better than that!

I hate to see this staff broken up when it seems to be working so well for us. Still, the head man at an SEC school could be a great opportunity. Mississippi has a lot of great talent as does Louisiana and Alabama. A great recruiter could help turn that program around within 4 or 5 years. I sure appreciate his efforts at Alabama and I wish him luck with whatever he decides to do. But I sure hope he comes to the conclusion that he'd like to stay for at least another year.

I think he'd be better served by a better school. Pick a school that'll position you to win short & long term so he can be there a long time. Ole Miss just will not provide this to him. Who knows, the season isn't over yet & there will be more teams out there looking for a new hire... Better schools too.

Don't be surprised if Memphis places a call, they are in the market and I feel like they will look at a "high value" coordinator. Of course they don't put much money into the program and they suck something fierce so I don't know if he would consider it.
