I'd be shocked if he goes to Ole Miss but this rumor is picking up more and more steam lately.

He's earned it but, Ole Miss? They will offer him a chunk of change but I think if he holds out another year or two something better may come along.

Hell, Gus turned down Vandy and is/was in the running for the UNC job.

If I'm Kirby or Gus, I think that NC is a better opportunity than Ole Miss. You will definitely play second fiddle to the Basketball in that state, but if you do anything at all you are a success. It can be done, that is where Mack Brown was before going to Texas. I don't think it is easy, but I think it would be easier than trying to compete in the SEC west with teams you run up against week in and week out.

i kinda look for ucla to make contact with gus or kirby to be honest. i think they both could be successful there with the fertile recruiting grounds and a conference with some weak teams. great way to get your feet wet as a head coach. ucla has been in the slums for a while and any success they have will be welcomed, especially with a win over usc thrown in.

I was thinking about this also. MSU job, at least in my opinion, is a little better than the Ole Miss job.

I just can't imagine that he wants to be a head coach bad enough to go to either Ole Miss or Miss. St. Why put yourself through that kind of torture? Recruiting and playing against Saban and Miles year in and year out. Plus, look at the laundry list of previous coaches that didn't do so well in either place.

He won't end up at Ole Miss, but there are rumors that A&M might be calling him soon... and I could see him there. That is the only SEC West school he'd take IMO (that would offer).

New DC, slightly different schemes, play calling, etc--I wouldn't worry about it
