šŸ“ JUCO #2 Tevita Musika, defensive line, signs with Bama

Interested to see what others thing after watching that film.....?? Seems like an OJ Smith type. 6'2 is pushing it
HIs visit over the weekend was described as an eye-ball test. They were probably thinking the same thing you were, "let's see him up close and personal," ya know?

I've found some of the fan comments interesting as well. They've ran a gambit between "could he have a role like Cody" to "he'll never start a game."

Tua's former teammate headed to TitleTown as well.....

Will 5-star Hawaiian DL, former teammate of Tua Tagovailoa's, commit to Alabama?

Faatui Tuitele, the nation’s No. 2 defensive tackle from St. Louis School (Honolulu), will make his first visit to Alabama this upcoming week. Tuitele told SEC Country he flies from Hawaii to Alabama on Sunday and will likely stay until April 4. He’s not sure when he’s leaving Alabama, but he’ll be there for at least two full days.
It’s a big visit for Tuitele and Alabama. He doesn’t have an offer from the Crimson Tide yet, but that will most likely come by the time he leaves Tuscaloosa. The Alabama staff just wanted to see if he had serious interest in the Tide before extending an offer. It also isn’t a bad thing to offer an elite prospect in person because, in my opinion, that’s more meaningful.
There is a major connection with Tuitele and Alabama, which definitely helps the Tide’s chances, and that’s quarterback Tua Tagovailoa. They are former teammates and distant cousins.

Enough with the jive.... what do YOU think?! :bama2:

Just watched his Hudl tape. Unbelievable first step for a guy his size and very, very athletic for that size. Big time space eater. I would imagine he'll be closer to 350 by the time fall comes around but you're right he's a lot closer to 6' than he is 6'2." Cody was 400 coming out of JUCO but he was also around 6'5" and this guy looks a lot quicker than Cody (though Cody was super athletic for his size, too). Interested to see what he can do in the weight room.

I got a kick out of the "distant cousins" reference.

There's a few things that's caught my attention about him. The biggest is the timing of the visit. I know they wanted an up close look. It put him in an up close look as well in the middle of spring camp. I know the players give their own evals on these guys. All the boxes checked is how it reads.

Grade issues is the running story on why he's been off the radar. It's my opinion, we've got to go with the track record here. JUCO defensive linemen in the past...we've seen a few come through that worked out pretty well.

He certainly could be a playmaker in '19.

On another note the eligibility questions are clearing up with new signees so we're seeing depth fall into place; young, but depth.
