34 NFL teams. 134 FBS programs. How can a group rank the best offensive line in week six with that many college teams? I don't see how they have the manpower. At a minimum, sixty games a week they're grading by Monday?

Anywho ... they are "slobbering" over Bama this season. They've just ranked Sabb/Hubbard as the best safety duo in the nation. (I don't disagree with the talent in the defensive backfield.)

I have questions about the defensive line. PFF ranked them the #2 DL in the nation. The OL? PFF ranked #1.

I don't know about y'all, but I'm looking at the fall the same way I looked at seasons a quarter of a century ago: ten wins means something.

This is not really a reply about PFF and the rankings, but rather one of the differences I have seen under DeBoer. (I'll tie it together)

I was so accustomed to how Saban had the program locked down and didn't have a lot of interviews by players and coaches, etc. I really learned to love it. Maybe it was fake humility, but Saban and his coach speak was always complimentary of the teams and players that they played, but when it come time to motive Bama, we would get snippets of what he was telling the team. About the others talking shit, etc.

Having said that, there has been a lot of talk this off season about what all we have coming back and especially our O line. Our players are being interviewed and getting to talk now under CKD. They are not under the all seeing eye of CNS and it shows. All this off season talk about the O line gives me eerie vibes of 2000 under Dubose and the infamous "Pancake Posse". Sweet baby Jesus, I hope I'm wrong about this.

I know there is a certain amount of cockiness and swagger that is needed everytime you step on the field. There is a fine line with cocky/swagger and crossing over the line into hubris.

I know this CKD's team and there is more than one way to skin a cat. Winning cures all ills.

It would be interesting to see how CNS would handle this now. You have all of these player podcasts & radio interviews based on NIL agreements. I’m sure he’d keep the assistants locked down, but I’ll bet the other stuff would drive him absolutely crazy.

Just a bunch of specution of what might be. Do not trust any of this until I see it done on the field.

A little off topic but Deboer should get the Kids spouting off under control. Sounds like all other programs at this point "we are going to be great and they give themselves a nice little nickname to prove it" smh. When you have done nothing to prove it you probably should just be quiet.

Who is "spouting off?"

Not speaking for anyone, but I'm quite confused by this statement.

I’d rather him just show up and do it, but he’s 18 and not bad at football.

I’m surprised to see our OL ranked #1. 10 wins sounds nice.
What does his age have to do with what he's saying on podcast and other interviews? I don't understand why people have issues with him and others saying things that aren't nothing new or a concern?

A Saban coached team wouldn’t have said something like that - that system obviously worked. Nobody is saying this system won’t work. But I know a system that that spoke softly and carried a big stick that was pretty successful.

It’s nothing against RW. I’ve played sports my whole life, and I was always one to try not give my competition an extra edge.

Old school mentality.

I don't see anything wrong with what was being said in the media.

It's older people who has that mindset that has issue with new culture and often complain about it instead of adapting/adjusting to it.

This is such a crap comment. Your comments are approving of the behavior at Tennessee, Arkansas, Georgia and other programs we see running their mouths every baseball game. Using baseball because it's the season we're in. That is considered "new culture" and it's bullshit. Talking direct shit and attempting to incite physical altercation is not cool, nor is it impressive. Are you impressed by how these guys handle themselves?

New school is the current state of The Strip and how people are losing lives and in danger weekly. Give a mouse a cookie and he'll ask for a glass of milk.

You say it's an old school mindset, yet all we hear are how "new school" is fucking up college sports.

And by the way, the hammering ants comments don't bother me at all and I'm liking comments like that, I'm speaking about the behavior in college athletics in general.

CNS fit into that older people bucket and he got some pretty good results with his old school approach.
