if he comes, then Bama football will be over by one. Question. Since Holcombe is concentrating on baseball this spring and may wish to just do baseball, can he be released from Football scholarship and thereby freeing up a spot for the Juco DT? or is this prohibited by NCAA rules?

There are still spots left over for the '18 class of initials...will be until the early enrollees are all here for the next class (back-counting.)

Great question. Looks like Kansas was his only offer this season...

My best guess is that schools didn't believe he would get his associates?? Didn't want to take the chance?

Honestly I couldn't see him actually getting on the field here but we all know bodies are necessary. Really surprised we didn't snag a few grad transfers.

Bama had Musika in for an "eye-ball" test as well as giving him and the players a chance to *evaluate* each other. All went well from what I've learned. He's been given his paperwork and is expected to sign soon.

His measurables are better than I thought. 6'2" 360 lbs with 33-inch arms. That is a true nose tackle type dude. With his experience in Juco, this is a great get for our D-line.

In theory, he could be put on a baseball scholarship. However, the number of baseball scholarships are minimal (we discussed this sometime back).

I like the sound of 340 better than 360. If he’s able to get 10-12 snaps a game then well worth the scholarship.

There’s no replacing Payne. That kid was a ‘freak’.
