🏀 Is Bama destined to mediocrity in basketball?

There were a couple of horrendous calls, but we need look no further than our abysmal free throw shooting to explain the loss.

Cheering for the Bama basketball team is like being a Cubs fan. You just have to realize you're never going to win it all.

They have some success and get our hopes up, but face it this isn't football.

Why? What was Florida basketball before Billy Donovan? Butler went to the NCG twice in a row. VCU made the final 4. Just look at Bruce Pearl and Tenn. Tenn was a terrible program historically before Pearl and he made the NCAA tourney every year that he was there. All it takes is hitting a homerun on a coaching hire. I'll admit that it's easier said than done, but we could do it.

Florida is a nice exception. The Cubs have made the World Series too, but they haven't won, much like the other teams mentioned that went to the Final Four. I'd be pleased with a Sweet Sixteen this year. I'm not so sure about making the Dance. You do see the point I'm making, I hope, that the team just isn't in the mix to even think about winning. We'd be the Miracle Mets.

I'm cheering for them. I support the team. It's difficult to get too up for them though.

I enjoy college basketball just as much as football..The atmosphere, constant momentum swings, March Madness is said to be the most exciting 3 weeks of any sport..I agree it's tough being a fan of Alabama basketball but I always get up for every game; whether is be against Duke or Rhode Island...And also like TideAlum said, it really only takes one home run hire and we're set...I still say Grant will get us to where we want to be next year. We're 2nd in SEC in perimeter shooting, only trailing Florida....We just need someone like Jimmie Taylor or Shannon Hale to come in so we can have more balance on offense.
