All the pressure is on us. The games at home, we're #1 media spotlight, and if we lose (FORGIVE ME) "IF" there goes our hopes of playing for a NC title.
You forgot to add that the goobers have absolutely nothing to lose & everything to gain.

Most bama fans know that, but you're right I should have said that too.

I think Julio will get alot of man-to-man because they will try and stack the box worse than anybody all year. Every game we have had where we didn't run so well has been fairly close. I'd imagine he will do everything in his power to stop the run. Somebody besides Julio is going to have to make some plays recieving. The good news is Upchurch will be back. IMO he is the best reciever out of the backfield. I'd expect to see some plays made by him.

Auburn on offense will try some wierd shit. They think Burns will make some plays running the ball because we haven't seen a running quarterback much this season. Althought Ark ST. had one and he had -19 yards rushing. But it was Ark st. Yeah they will run it at us with tate and fanin and throw deep on play action as that is our biggest weakness. Our linebackers have to come up big and we need pressure up the middle. Pugh is giving up 80lbs to Mt. Cody so he will need help. That will leave lanes open for Hightower and McClain they have to play big.

Not being critical at all...
just adding a statement.

In the end, I don't think it matters.....we will beat them, but I can see them being very effective, especially at the beginning of the game. I can also see our guys maybe being a little tight to start with.

Either tight or too hyped. But I could be wrong lol /poke

IMO the way they have beat us over the past years is to jump out early and we seemed to come out slow. I think we need to hit them hard and fast like we did Georgia. ;flame *barner

We need to hit them hard and fast in both halves and not just the first or second one. I hope they come out and play a complete game to the best of their abilities because Auburn deserves no less.

I don't understand how FANS talking about UF or possible NC game affects how the PLAYERS play against the barn this weekend. Sometimes, reading this board, I get the feeling that some believe that all of the Bama fans must focus and concentrate on the upcoming game and nothing else. Like somehow our psychic aura or something affects how the players play. The only thing I can see fans being a factor in relation to the players is at the game where they can be loud and cause problems for the other team. Other than that, us "worrying" or "focusing" has 0, zilch, nada, NO effect on the outcome of the game.

Everyone, repeat after me:
"What I do and what I say has NO effect on the Iron Bowl outcome. If we lose, it isn't because I didn't "focus", its because the players didn't. If we win, it is because the players focused and made plays, not because I did."

Everyone RELAX. Enjoy this season and this coming weekend. Could Auburn beat us? sure. But so could have Ole Miss, Ky, UGA, or LSU. If you're going to send out some psychic aura, how about one of confidence? Like actually believing that this team can beat the Barn.

If you are lucky, and have tickets this weekend, then by all means "DO YOUR PART". Be LOUD. Not just in key situations or after Bama scores or makes a play. Be loud every time the Barn breaks the huddle!

I agree with most of that. I don't think anyone believes their individual focus affects the game. Do you? But there's not much need to talk about a NC when we haven't finished the regular season. I think the overall feeling of this board is that we shouldn't talk about hypotheticals that aren't guaranteed.

I think many people have bought into what Saban preaches in his PCs. One play at a time. Why worry about the NC, if we don't beat Auburn? On November 29th, we can't win the SECC or clinch a spot in the NC, we can only beat Auburn.

I also think throughout the season, many fans have expected a letdown somewhere. Obviously, no one thought we'd be where we are as of today. Big wins are good, but they don't guarantee that you can pile it on teams like UK of Tulane. So as a fan, to keep myself from being disappointed thinking of what can be, I just hope we get through the next week unbeaten. That's all I can do.

I'll go on record saying, I have looked ahead to this game, the Iron Bowl. I also believe we are going to stomp a mudhole in Auburns arse. In conclusion, I never thought we would be in line to play the SECCG this year much less figure in on the NC game, I figured it would take longer, but I ain't suprised. After all THIS IS ALABAMA FOOTBALL!

Oh yeah, If I were Tubby, I would go Duck Hunting, cause its gonna be a long day for him.

Well, thats the feeling I get. If anyone talks about UF we get these posts reminding us we haven't beaten the Barn yet. Trust me, I am PAINFULLY aware, thanks to the Aubies, that we havent beaten them in six years. But does that mean I cant talk about the fact that we are playing UF in Atlanta? or that if we win our next 2 games we will play for the BCS Championship in Miami? Im excited about these things and hopeful.
weezyfbaby00 said:
Heck no. I used to be very "superstitious". Until I realized that NOTHING I did made any difference in how the team played. I enjoy watching Bama alot more nowadays.

I agree to an extent, but wheres the fun in that? We have a legit shot. Talking about UF is not hypothetical, we are going to Atlanta. Man, we have wandered in the desert for years, this season is exciting to me!

Yeah I understand that. The players cant think about anything else but the next play. Im a fan. Im certainly not "overlooking" the Barn, but I am excited about where our team is and what they are playing for. It would be a disaster for the players to think like me.

I can understand that. Look, I would rather beat the Barn and lose to UF than the other way around. But I have to believe we can beat the Barn. Next week I have to believe we CAN beat UF. Then whoever we play next. I expected an 7-8 win season. Cant I be excited? Before the season, it would have been insane for me to mention an NC in the same breath with Bama. or even the SECCG. But is it now? I expected a letdown. I havent gotten one yet. At what point do I stop expecting a letdown and start believing in this team?

We're pretty much on the same page. I shouldn't have used the word expected in regards to a letdown. I just think it took a while for everyone to wrap their heads around how good this team actually is. And I have no problem talking about future games, just wanna make sure we win this one. :) RTR
