Not that it matters as long as we keep winning, going to the MNC game as #1 or #2 matters not to me. Even if they do, & we beat UF in the SECCG, we'll prolly just jump them back.

We may then leap-frog them again with a win over Florida because Florida would be a more impressive win than their BIG12CG opponent.

In the the end it is irrelevant other than being an interesting question.

I personally wouldn’t mind it at all if they jumped us even when we do beat Florida. Then we could hear a month of discussions about how great Texas Tech’s offense is and how we have little if no chance of stopping them. I would love for these guys to go into that kind of game really pissed off about not getting any respect. Then four quarters of a tactical dismantling of a Big 12 offense by an SEC defense. Run, run and then run some more. All that being said, with a win over Florida I don’t see Tech finishing ahead of us. But first let's take care of the buisness at hand and hang an L on Sly! Roll Tide!

Texas Tech is off next week, we play Mississippi State.

'Bama needs to beat the Croomers by at least 30 to make it hard for them to drop us the following week.

Mind you, we will not drop next week regardless, you know, unless we win by 3 or 7 points and really struggle or lose.

But, the following week, the 22nd, we are off and TT plays Oklahoma.

That is why we need to make an example out of the Croomers. If TT even scrapes by Oklahoma, we are going to need a strong performance to take up for us being off the week of the TT/OU game.

I watched texas play and I believe that the golden boy Mccoy would lose his mind if he had to face a true SEC type of defense. The type of defense that is in his face on every down. Why do all other conferences ignore defense and play to run up the score?

It's not just the other conferences that ignore defense. The media drums up the pretty, exciting, flashy style of basketball on grass and it gets ratings.

Fortunately, as of today, football teams don't have to change their style of football to get better television ratings. I believe this day may soon be coming, but that is another story.

They get hype, they get pretty points, they trick people and it is easy to be fooled by them. They run up points because it is cool, it is neat, it get's other recruits who like to run up the score but have never even heard of a defense. They do the same thing at a lot of high schools now.

It could very well turn out to be another repeat type game that was seen in the TT vs. 'Bama '06 Cotton Bowl.

TT was going to easily lay 65 points on us, just like they were used to putting 40, 50, and 60+ points on just about everyone they played that year.

Needless to say, when they met Tricky Joe Kines and those Southern boys they scored 10 points and lost the game.

I see it unfolding in much the same fashion if we are so lucky to meet them.
