Let me preface this post by saying never in my lifetime. Do I expect to see this happen however…..
As a conference, the SEC is the toughest top to bottom conference in college football, that’s a given, you play a 12 game regular season with a conference championship game, I say play an all SEC schedule and do away with the conference championship game. There would be 15 other schools you would play 12 of the 15 and surely that strength of schedule alone would be harder than anyone else’s schedule in college football.
Could you perhaps have a two or three way tie for conference champion at the end of the year, yes, but use all of the goofy tiebreaking metrics that you have now to determine a champion. Again, too much money on the table for them to get rid of a conference championship game, but I would just like to see the SEC step up and do that which would kind of be like throwing the double bird and you know the rest of the conferences would follow suit because we are a trendsetter.
As for the future of the playoffs, who the hell knows what they will do
