🏈 I thanked an Iowa fan today

Was he a Buckeyes fan or did he buy the mower used as well?

And to the most important question...was it a mower with a Honda engine or Briggs and Stratton? I looked at one Friday (Honda motor) when I was picking up a drive chain at a small engine repair shop that was priced at a grand. Nice mower...but pedestrian compared to the no-turn Snapper with a 90" cut...priced at a reasonable $38,999.

Er, Crap, I meant to say Hawkeye logo...

Briggs engine on this one, 233cc I believe. I have a little over a 1/4 acre and my old Toro bit the dust after 16 years, I was eyeballing this to reduce my cutting time going from a 21-inch to 30-inch cut. Don't have enough land (saving that for Montana) to justify a riding mower.

The Toro commercial version is the Turfmaster and uses a Kawasaki engine and is about twice as heavy. There is a guy on craigslist selling 1 year old, heavily used ones for $1k.

Since '92 I've bought two mowers--both with Honda motors. The last one is a Troy-built body...first was Honda all the way around. The only reason I sold it--yes sold--after using it for 22 years is the deck was just worn out. I thought of buying a new frame for a few weeks before I decided to just bite the bullet.

My mom has a 30+ yr old Deere.

He told me he didn't care for Ohio State ;) ... just another example of football bringing people together...Well I guess a lawnmower and cash did that.

6 acres, hell yeah @uagrad93. I'm looking for 10-100 in montana.

Only reason I got 6 is because of my in-laws!! They purchased a farm here in South Talladega county when I married in to the family. He told me to hop in his truck one day with him and ride over the land and asked me where I wanted to put our trailer. I picked a hill overlooking a hayfield and creek. 3 years later, we built our home on that spot and have been there ever since. Let me say that I have some GREAT IN-LAWS!!!!

Did you tell him that Iowa corn is the best corn, fuck those Nebraska people?

We had two John Deere riding mowers over a 25 year stretch. Mowing about 10 acres, the other 150 acres is pasture, woods, a pond and two creeks. Now dad has a Kubota sub compact tractor with a 60" drive over mowing deck and a front end bucket/forks.

I have a 42 inch mulching deck on a John Deere riding mower that I have used for 23 years. The spline on the drive shaft stripped and the pulley wouldn’t grip it any longer enough to pull the mower. I put some JB Weld on the spline, reinstalled the pulley and let it dry overnight. That was 6 years ago and it’s just started the 7th.

Well, I jinxed myself by posting that. My JD bit the dirt when the wiring decided to short out while my wife was mowing today. The under the hood electrical wiring is now all burned up and fused together. Not sure what happened to cause it but good bye ole friend.

SInce we’re talking mowers, I just bought a place with about 2.5 acres of grass to cut... bought the mower and the trailer to haul on for $5000 the day I moved in. Scag turf tiger 52” zero turn with 300 hours on it. Lol

Sometimes I cut so fast it makes me nauseous. I’ve yet to puke though. Rtr
