🧑‍🍳 I have gotten a lot of great recipes on here!

Damn. You make me laugh.

I have a "strainer" that fits one of my stainless steel pots. The chorizo, I leave out until it's room temp. Then it goes in the strainer on the pot with boiling water. It takes some of the flavor out but it's something I can play with as well.

I have a baking sheet I use on the grill I've drilled small holes in...serves to drain as well as make the grill dirty as hell. (Smells good.)

In both situations I'm taking the grease out. Ya know? It's not convential but it works for me.

I read garlic and Lupus aren't friendly
No idea on the garlic and lupus, probably should take a look because we eat a lot of it.

When my mom's doc first told me that it would/could lead to flare ups it shocked me a bit. I can't say I believed him 'straight up.' But, did some research and sure enough...it can mess with the immune system for people with Lupus. It's weird because one of the benefits of garlic is your immune system. It's good for blood pressure (another area she struggles with.)

The biggest shock? Everyone says avoid the sun. That would drive me to the grave.

I knew about the sun exposure but hadn't heard anything about garlic. Nobody really mentions diet which, logically, would play a big part and I hadn't even thought about it.

I'd try that. Would've thought he would've cooked the whole roll and then cut. I'd probably have to add some peppers and have a mustard sauce or a chutney with it.
$10 for what I'd call four meals. He's got 10. I've never made a pastry dough. It seems like too much work to get the size right versus the $3 at the store for what Pillsbury puts out.

It's funny you mention the cutting. I didn't listen to the video when I watched the first time. When I went back to look at the knife I heard him say my second thought after peppers, "better be a sharp knife." I wonder why he wouldn't have used a Santoku? It wouldn't be sticking like it is on that Chef's knife.

SOS Army.

I serve it over toast but you do it your way.

Came back here to tell you that My wife has lupus and it is true. It does mess with Lupus. grapefruit does as well. One thing we found out that best way to deal with Lupus is to become Vegan/ eat plant-based food and that really helped with her lupus. she eliminated meats, soda, and other things.

When someone was born in '38, and they want meats, you give them meats. But,pif you have seen this thread in its entirety, I'm not making her 70/30 ground beef burgers.

Soda? That's tricky; a story in itself.

The pro-protein, but vegan positions contradict each other. That said, I'm not a big fan of her doctor right now...a story in itself.

Seems to be one of those diseases that not everyone can agree on. We've had conflicting information depending on the Dr. Think it's something they don't totally understand and it varies some from person to person so I can see how it's difficult to develop a standard treatment.

Understood. I assume she's on steroid meds given her age?

For a different reason, I just had a recommendation from my dermatologist to take Heliocare Advanced to reduce UV sensitivity. I see that it's a common supplement for lupus patients as well.
