You can where I am. You can go before the Board of Assessors and state your case. Sometimes they lower them, sometimes not.

You're in NW GA, right? They're transitioning from ad valorem to straight sales tax in GA. On a couple of my cars, it's just $35 a year now.

Yeah, I know. And it has screwed me up badly, because of how I used to by my vehicles. I never bought from a dealership, only individuals, so no sales tax. But now, these assholes are charging the sales tax based on some valuation models they have, when I go to register the vehicle. One of the dealership owners here in town was the head guy in that push to get the new law instated.
