🏈 Ha Ha Clinton-Dix suspended

I'm worried about them. If we come out flat, they will roll us.

Damn 'tick...what are you smoking today? (No sharing request...don't do schwag.)

Arkansas hasn't a prayer...hell, I'd send their entire team a case of rosary beads with instructions on what each bead represented and the windows of heaven would still be closed to their pleas.

Not a freakin' chance!

Y'all know I have some "sources" and everything is off the record and nothing official from anybody who wants their name used... That said...

The staff found out that "a few" players, Clinton-Dix the main one, met with a registered agent. While it's not against NCAA rules to meet one and say hello, it's against team rules to meet with a registered agent outside any framed appointment done through the compliance office.

Saban wants such things squashed, so to make an example of one our "Stars" is a good way to do that. They will investigate this meeting forward backward and sideways all while making Clinton-Dix swing in the wind, lose playing time and significant status as an "elite" player. Should their investigation show more than just a chat and planning for the future kind of thing, as in promises made, contract signed, money swapped, incentives or extra benefits given, this could be it for Clinton-Dix.

While no one thinks that happened, the fact that he met with him in the first place knowing who he was, is a problem. He knew he wasn't supposed to do it and did it anyway, in the wrong way. Example is being made... Word is that he brought other players to "listen in" but they weren't directly involved like Clinton-Dix was...

He has not done drugs, missed class, had bad grades, or done other things... Just another example of greedy agents trying to get an advantage on a dumb player too soon... Maybe some drinks were bought or some food or something at most during the meeting... If that's it, they self report, Clinton-Dix pays back any cost of food or drink, three game suspension served and all is well....

All this is from sources that are usually pretty good but I've learned that when people say, "this is what I've heard" (not what I know or saw) and "You can't use my name", that it's not concrete, so take it with whatever amount of salt you want. I do...

Larry

Thanks for the info, Larry!

Damn Ha'sean, poooor decision making if that is the case. And is a three game suspension the standard for this sort of thing? If so, he will be back in time for Tennessee.

I hate this. I hate that it could be something small but has been blown up by the Twitter/forum universe. We are all fans of major college football. Kids will do stupid things, people with money around these schools will do dumb things. But when it happens somewhere else the rivals act as if they are squeaky clean and the other is pure dirty. Auburn fans are seriously happy because a kid they do not know got suspended? Wow! Pathetic how far we have sunken in this world.

And I still dont understand the whole Barner/Bammer/Updykes deal. I graduated from the University of Alabama. I never met Harvey Updyke and if I did I would punch him in the gut for doing what he did. My cousin calls me a Bammer but I have never called him a Barner. The black sheep of the family sure, but I wont sink to that level.

Larry, that is a fairly plausible scenario of agent interaction if true.

Of course, per usual, the Barn is on top of this matter with their own investigators according to numerous barn affiliated message boards.:blah_1_many2:

Might wanna find some new sources buddy :biggrin_blue:

"Cupcake"... ya mean like the Rams were suppose to be? And what's "cupcake" about the Razorbacks? They put up some solid effort against the Aggies. You never know.

We won 31-6... move on. And Texas A&M cant stop a freakin cold let alone a half competent offense.

Some of yall need to chill with this "we're gonna get rolled" crap. If one player causes us to "get rolled" by teams then we deserve it.
