🏈 Game Week: Alabama vs. UL Monroe (press conferences, news updates, & discussion) ***Update- DL Jeremiah Beamon injured, out for season***

I think based on how he handled things, Saban would have gone pretty easy on them through the press after a loss like that (most likely). But, Bama doesn’t lose that game under Saban so it’s a moot point.

I also think a lot of those snippets from the PC were from when DeBoer was talking about Simpson. In those cases, I don’t see the issue. He and Grubb both alluded to the fact that Ty played tentative at times and just needed to trust himself and let it rip.
I used to tell my QBs, trust your eyes! Make your read and live with it!

I am just so disappointed in how in game adjustments are not made and how little emotion CKD shows. Goodness gracious.🤦‍♂️
You know we all believe a firey coach is needed and that was certainly CNS but I can think about some really great coaches that on the sideline they were not. Tom Landry comes to mind. Then you have Muschamp that was all about emotion but a horrible coach.

I do think some fire is needed but CKD is not going to do that based on what I have seen. He ultimately has to be who he is and it will either work or it will not.. I hope someone on the staff or player leadership is bringing the fire during the week. Someone needs to be the enforcer....

Who was the last coach with no fire to win it all in college? Pro is a different animal.

Even though I also have problems with DeBoer’s personality and demeanor, my take is different. I actually don’t think coaches need to lose their composure on gameday. I think if you play like you practice (which is generally true) and you enter each game prepared, there is no reason to freak out on gameday. The time to freak out, throw tantrums, and yell at players is during weekly practices. Gameday is not the time to plant seeds. Gameday is the harvest, and the final score is the harvest’s yield. I never appreciated Saban’s public tantrums and always thought it was a bad look for him and the program.

Oh, no doubt. I don't want my coach pitching a fit on the sideline the entire game, but I also don't want my coach kissing everyone's ass and passing out green participation ribbons each week either.

When I see this, I'm left even more questioning everything. I do not feel we were prepared for everything.

Sounds like they had player only meetings the last few days and called out bunch of players. It was reported Tim Keenan, Ty Simpson and That center guy called out some guys during the game for lack of efforts and etc.

Then you hear the players interviews today and man you could tell there's some entitlement in locker room that hasn't gone away yet. So kudo to players for owning up today but let's see how it goes .

Gotta prove it.

One reason I just don't like this game is something that ULM spawned. It used to be pretty good and then it just lost its way.

I don't miss Tim Brando. In the least.

The Duck Dynasty guy went there, didn't he?

Brandon, I'm trying not to.... but with the press conference today, my confidence is dwindling even more on deboer. Womack didn't help with that either. I usually don't take much away for these press conferences, but to me.... it's a different circumstance considering where we are right now. I need a drink.

Judge for yourself after Saturday night

People say a lot of things. Action speaks for itself.

I am convinced this team will be fine. May not go undefeated the rest of season. But well may be a 10-2 team.
If they have fight. In them. We shall see
