🏈 Game Week: Alabama vs. UL Monroe (press conferences, news updates, & discussion) ***Update- DL Jeremiah Beamon injured, out for season***

I'd love to know who the former players are. Keepers of tge program and you gotta love that.
It can be good but it can also be a probelm. It did not help post Bear but that was probably more boosters but some former players I am sre. Maybe it will work here post CNS. I hope so. I did hear AJ say he had talked to several players. so maybe he is one of them.

With that said it is sad that they are having to do so. Listend to some podcast today with AJ and he had softened on CKD and was still putting it on the players. He said they did not fear the bench. I took that to mean they feared being benched but could have meant feared going back to the beanch to face the Alph dogs.... He was claiming they are getting coached.... To me if they are getting coached and the coaches are allowing poor performance from doing what you are supposed to do or effort and they are not benched that is no the coaches period.

CKD may be easy going and a players coach but he is going to have to get their attention to correct this.

BTW AJ was pretty hard on Williams and Lawson.... Calling both out by name. Somebody on the current team needs to be doing this.

Perkins kept his teams away from alumni; same with the boosters.
I remember those days. So there has to be a balance which is why I said it can be good and it can be a problem. In this case I think it can be a problem.

Some interesting things I have heard one from AJ how he and others former players have talked to current players and then CNS saying CKD has reached out to people outsid the program. Can't recal where I heard CNS say that but I took it he was consulting with others. Not sure about what. I know CNS knew the X's and O's of football but he spent a significant amount of time on the mental aspect of the game exploring motivation techniques with the players.

This isn't new to this DeBoer era nor was it new to the Saban era. He did the same things.

I do believe it's important to look at the horse while you're listening to what's coming out of his mouth. Remember, AJ is one to "jump quickly" with his comments.

I have no problem with what AJ is saying and completely agree with him. Somebody neeeds to be saying it. Hope current coaches and/or players are saying it as well. If not we have no chance if seeing this corrected.

As I have said a few time since last Saturday, I think we are somewhere between what we saw in the FSU game and the preseason reports. A little bit of a perfect storm against FSU, first game with a new QB, injuries, road game where we struggled last year, new FSU coordinators and players, OC designed offense that can confuse defenses and a ridiculous amount of rat poison. That game for sure took care of the rat poison.

When one has the propensity to exaggerate I'd rather them say nothing.
