⛳ The Masters: A Tradition Like No Other.

I love the coverage on Masters.com including the camera work. They’ll keep a camera on a hole and once the group has tee’d off, you watch them walk all the way down the fairway. You can see what the course really looks like, the grades, the hills, it’s pretty cool. Different views than you get normally with the networks.

Masters.com is pretty solid, but it got old quick on Day 1 with Tiger. Even if he hit it in the water it was the best miss they had ever seen. That was annoying, but most of the other coverage is very good. There is one "younger" bigger guy on that broadcast that I can't stand. He's loud and attempts to act like he knows the course better than anyone, and I can't stand a loud know it all.

I've been watching their link A LOT this weekend. I may have caught the last two hours on CBS yesterday afternoon and that's only because I didn't have any of my devices with me. I saw he's in a "Featured Group" today. I jumped to holes #4, #5, and #6.
That was annoying,
Here's annoying.

I was in Ace yesterday morning and their Asst. Mgr. had changed their Craftsman's display TV to Sportscenter (god, don't you love casting!) SC spent five minutes covering Tiger and about 20 seconds on the rest of the field. I'd bet four of those five minutes were their "takes," instead of covering the actual play of Tiger: just their opinions.

I here ya....is the fawning over TW because he is a great black golfer or because he is, or should I say was, one of the greatest glolfers of all time? No racial overtones here at all, but seeing how ESPN has become infected with the woke, I am just curious. Personally I have always enjoyed watching him play thru out the years.

I think part of it comes down to your vacation golfer's (several steps below weekend golfers) tuning in when he's playing.

It's my opinion your true golf fans are tuning in to see players compete against Augusta National: the way it should be, player versus the course. It comes across as if they believe the player (Tiger) is bigger than the game; or in this case bigger than The Masters event.

Seriously. Who wants to watch a guy that's in 44th place on a Sunday? (I say 44 because 50 made the cut and there's only six who have posted scores higher.)

It makes as much sense to me as asking someone who is color-blind to red and green who's on the top of the leader board.

He's one of the best to play the game, no doubt. This has nothing to do with his ability, his record, or what he's been through in life. It's about the game itself.

He finished 12th in putting for the tournament, 11th around the green. It was his driver this weekend: 48th.
If you noticed once he missed a very makeable putt, then he took that with him to the box and presto a boogie or double. He has a putting coach not his father and I am not sure how long that guy has been working with him. He can make pars.

JT's career wins

Hawaii has been great for JT. 2017 was without a doubt a great year with 5 wins.

One in 2020 and one in 2021.

I had a wonderful time at Augusta National this weekend. We walked the entire 10th about 15 feet from Tiger as he walked alone in the super cold and windy conditions on Saturday. He looked miserable and his limp was pretty bad at that point. We also saw Jim Harbaugh at the 15th grandstands on Saturday.

Rewatching Saturday it didn't look nearly as bad on TV as it was actually out there. The wind never stopped, it was cloudy all day, and it even rained for a few brief moments as well. We were sitting at Amen corner and a few seconds after JT missed a putt on 11 the sun came out for about 5 seconds and the crowd roared. JT looked to the crowd like we cheered because he missed the putt.

Sunday weather was absolutely perfect. We walked the course early and sat at 4th green and can switch to the 5th tee easily. We went and saw Tiger on 6 with the mob then sat at 8 green for a while. We then went to Amen corner because you just have to while you are there. Then we sat the last 4 hours roughly at the 16th tee. You can see the approach on 15, the 15th green, all of 16 and the tee at 17. You can even see a little of 6 as well and you have a leader board right in front of you to know how things are shaping up.

Overall it was a great weekend and the TV doesn't do Augusta National justice. If you ever get the chance to go you need to do it!

Glad you enjoyed yourself! Augusta National is an amazing sight. I've been lucky to go four or fives times. Hope I get to go with my wife and then take the kids one time before I die.

I really like watching at 13. Can see that tee shot come in and then hope you get to see them go for the green. You also can turn around and see 14 tee shot as well. It's a beautiful course, I've walked it all, try to stay out of the traditional hot spots if I can. I haven't been in about ten years, but hoping to get back soon.
