⛳ The Masters: A Tradition Like No Other.

I made the quip because of an article I read the other day from Golf Digest.

Do you know the name Charlie Rymer of The Golf Channel? I see/hear his name quite often now that he's involved in the Myrtle Beach golf scene.

He stepped out of the media area last season to make a quick call and got booted from the first round. An apology later and he was covering round two. (The article also mentioned a coach and a player's wife got the boot last season for using their cell phones.)

"As bad as running" was how cell phone use was described.

Interesting article. It mentions Poulter and one other posting a video from the club but they didn't get in trouble. Doug Ford shooting too high of a score was another and he was asked not to come back and play. Some stupid things like Fowler wearing his hat backwards. It mentions people taking water and sand and getting in trouble.

They got pissed off with the Fowler hat thing. I remember my grandfather telling me about that when it happened. It's what seperates them and that's why it's loved so much and respected.

@BamaFan334 @Tidexc1 Here's the article.

Awesome stories.

I question the scalping one though, because there are scalpers and third party RV's outside the gates selling badges for obscene amounts of money, and it's right there with big huge signs. I even see advertisements on Instagram.

“We did not disinvite Phil,’’ Ridley said at Wednesday’s press conference. “Phil is a three-time Masters champion and is invited in that category and many other categories. He’s the defending PGA champion.”

If you are watching the Masters online there's an option at the bottom where you can go "natural sounds."
I didn't listen to the commentators yesterday. Quite enjoyable.

Another neat feature I stumbled across.

If you follow the jump you can click on any hole from yesterday and you'll get a shot by shot replay of how each player "played" each hole. (It's on auto play: watch their entire round in a few minutes.)

As example, you can watch JT on the first by clicking on "4." Even better, scroll down to Speith, click the 12th hole, and watch him put two in the creek.

I love the coverage on Masters.com including the camera work. They’ll keep a camera on a hole and once the group has tee’d off, you watch them walk all the way down the fairway. You can see what the course really looks like, the grades, the hills, it’s pretty cool. Different views than you get normally with the networks.
