🏈 😂😂 The way Ruggs tosses the ball back to the ref after they called this pass incomplete

This is what happens when they know replay can fix it.
Over the years can you count how many times you've seen "but the ref was looking right at it!" I know I've asked the question, "was he ..."

You be the judge on this one. Where was he looking? At the wrong player.

Who is supposed to be watching the ball? Besides Ruggs?
The point here is what/where his responsibility is during that play. It's the back of the end zone line not what's happening with Smith and the other defenders. That was the side judge's responsibility. Ironically, the same guy who didn't call it incomplete and was the other official (S) that walked up and said "hold on."

(It's a bigger problem in basketball today. I can't number the times I've seen complaints about a ref making a call from 50' away when the call he's making is one he's supposed to make: that's his assignment. And, on the opposite end of the spectrum, we have refs calling things that are not their responsibility from the same distance.)

Which all brings me to another thought.

What ever happened to @SECofficiating on Twitter? You may remember, the account they launched to be more transparent about the calls and why they were made?

The splashy hit on Smith had everyone's eye. It was a tough hit, but with a shoulder and in the zone. I'm just glad there's instant replay.
