Erik Anders on UFC Fight Night Feb 3 vs Machida

I thought when Anders got close, he didn't let his hands go enough. The Brazilian was plenty worried and respectful of Erik's power, but the few times Anders tagged him he should have let those power shots go. No matter where they landed, they were knocking the guy around. He'll learn. All in all, Anders did, by far, the most damage.

That said, you don't always see a guy running for his life for 5 rounds, throwing nothing substantial and get away with it on the scorecard in the UFC. That last judge that had Erik losing by 3 points was criminal. A couple more years and the MMA will have this "Boxing" type judging down pat. Can't wait for those days, again.

Yeah, I think Eryk will look back at the tape and see a lot of lost opportunity. It was a mistake for Eryk to keep going for takedowns after he had Machida rocked. He should have unleashed a flury of punches and might have ended the fight. It would be tough for someone other than a world class Jiu Jitsu guy to submit Machida after 3 rounds of getting sweaty and slippery. You could see that when Anders slid right off his back in the last round.
