Brodie told a story about the 6-3 Third Saturday in October back in 2005. It’s funny that there are just certain games that stick in your mind, not all of them. Brodie recalled the huddle 3rd and 9 on our final possession. Brodie told us the call with the signals from the sideline. He then asked DJ Hall if he could be beat his guy on a go route. DJ said, “Brodie, don’t drag me in this shit! I saw the play call!” Brodie asked again and DJ said he could but why would he change the call. Brodie said he was tired of getting hit! He hits DJ on that go route and Jamie Christensen kicks the game winner a few snaps later to win it.
He then told us that Demeco Ryans got into it with Shula demanding to play left tackle to keep Brodie upright. Brodie said he was all for it too!!!

I remember that. I had ZERO hope we'd do anything to get in field goal range. Then BAM! I'm where's that been all game!

The OL was so baaaaaad. If we had a decent OL we'd beat LSU & AU.

First Bama game my wife ever attended. We were sitting about the 15 yard line right in front of where the UT tight end or receiver fumbled the ball. I thought the game was over when that guy was running toward paydirt. Then all of a sudden Brodie drops back and slings that ball to DJ, by far the longest play of the game. That place erupted! Awesome story and insight into what was going on inside the huddle!
