Its kinda ironic that he was in front of the camera so much all season, especially the end with the awards, I'm not gonna debate his comfort level in front of the camera's. I just find it odd that he's willing to get on camera for the glory, hell he even talked on camera after his ass whooping in the NC game, now he doesn't want to face the camera.
I'm sure I'd be giving the wrong advice if I were his "handler", but I'd tell him get in front of this, be open and tell the story. Take away the media and everyone else's next steps.
A line from a movie that seems fit for this situation, at the beginning of the movie Clear and Present Danger, when they were trying to determine how the US President should deal with his friend that was killed off the coast of a South American country I believe, the guys in DC were trying to figure out how to spin it. Do they play down the relationship or do they play it up, Harrison Ford suggested to play it up, don't give the media any room to go... that's what they did, something to the degree of "We were the best of friends"...
