| FTBL Deadspin: Manti Te'o's dead girlfriend, the most heartbreaking and inspirational story of the colle

Apparently the other guy confessed. As did some random family. Still leaves many questions. Such as: why did Te'o lie repeatedly? And maintain the charade a full month after the apparent relegation?

Wouldn't be surprised if Te'o paid off his buddy to fess up haha.

This whole thing is ridiculous.

Did Te'o ever have that press conference the news mentioned yesterday?

lol Here buddy, confess a lie for me and I'll pay you back when I get that big pay check from the NFL

I admit it!!! I am guilty!! I am loving this soap opera. I am no better than the fat woman in the hood or trailer park, watching soaps all day!! This has been awesome. Give me more!!! No food stamps needed!

There are others now coming out the the kid did the same thing to them about four years ago. He's also been caught lieing about a serious car accident where several were critically injured but by some miracle survived.

In reference to his agent, my only inference was that was didn't have one until after the NCG, including talking to him. I'm also not naive enough to believe that players don't have some type of communications towards the end of the season thru someone like their parents whether they play for ND, Alabama or any other school.

Which if a violation as well Irish.

That's one of the main reasons I mentioned the Andre Smith story a few pages back. Relatives can't have negotiations with agents on behalf of their siblings, etc.

This is changing the subject a bit...

That's one of the reasons we had such an outcry around the SE when Auburn had their deal with Cam Newton. His father was acting on behalf of him and soliciting payola for Cam to commit to a school. IF his father would have been doing the same with an agent, Cam would have been disqualified. However, there was no rule in the books about a father, or relative, doing this when a player is committing to a school. Hence, the rule addition by the NCAA covering such actions.

Its kinda ironic that he was in front of the camera so much all season, especially the end with the awards, I'm not gonna debate his comfort level in front of the camera's. I just find it odd that he's willing to get on camera for the glory, hell he even talked on camera after his ass whooping in the NC game, now he doesn't want to face the camera.

I'm sure I'd be giving the wrong advice if I were his "handler", but I'd tell him get in front of this, be open and tell the story. Take away the media and everyone else's next steps.

A line from a movie that seems fit for this situation, at the beginning of the movie Clear and Present Danger, when they were trying to determine how the US President should deal with his friend that was killed off the coast of a South American country I believe, the guys in DC were trying to figure out how to spin it. Do they play down the relationship or do they play it up, Harrison Ford suggested to play it up, don't give the media any room to go... that's what they did, something to the degree of "We were the best of friends"...

There are a few more inconsistencies now between what the AD said and what Manti just said, example - when did he really NOT believe she was real?

I think we are missing some big chunks of truth. Too many inconsistencies. Lies are never simple, and it's always hard to keep track of a bunch of them. If there was a simple explanation (such as that he was the dumb victim of a scam he had no clue about), it would have already been given, without all of these complications.

Ha, from the Dallas Stars last night.
