But still put banners for final 4 appearance in bball don't you?
And a flag for final 4 in cf football wouldn't offend me. Quite an honor really
And sec w or e winner
Some wont agree but really good in my opinion

Football is going to have to catch up with basketball in that respect. I think getting to the 4 team playoff is all that but what do you do to commemorate the occasion? When the BCS was going strong the runnerup didn't officially do much, well, except Les Miles, to honor the occasion. Now, I'm curious what the barners did when they were runner-ups to FSU. At Bama, we swallow hard and talk about not letting it happen again.

So ....2020. Bama bball makes it to final four bball tournament....loses to Duke who wins National Championship.....and goes 44-0 for year...
We say "hell no we ain’t putting up no flag in Coleman....we Take our philosophy from Ricky Bobby....You aint first....you last...we burn that f**king flag."
And damn.....people need to quit saying Bama has made it to all 5 playoffs...cause we only won 2....
It's ironic you mention Duke because they came to mind when you pointed out the Final Four banners yesterday.
Their banners have specific references to the regional tournaments they won. IE: The Tampa Regional 2012(?) is mentioned as is the final four. It's a championship.
To borrow ... "don't we do phrasing anymore?"
LSU could have easily put Championship Season and it would read a hell of a lot better than "Runner Up." Juat as an engineer can miss real world applications in their work, someone here was tone deaf to how it would read. You'd think the #2 ring would have been a lesson learned.
Personally, I think anything related to division champ is too much. If it's not conference or better it's not worth mention. What meaning does "they won the division" carry any longer? It's conference contingent to the weight it carries to begin with and secondly we can look back to last year and find a couple of division champs that were .500 on the season.
