This is Sark's time to really shine.

CNS is already doing his best to keep the team loose and not worried about the things they can't control (him not being able to coach).

If Sark can get the defense to play more aggressive, this could be a really memorable game.

Hopefully the extra duties don't negatively affect how well Sark has been calling plays on the offensive side. That's still the biggest key to victory.

I'm not bashful about thinking Saban is the best CF of all time... But most of that comes before game day. Recruiting, team motivation, teaching assignments, etc. is all what he does at the highest level.

In regards to gameday, at this point I don't think it's that big of a deal. Going for it on 4th down, when to kick FG's or punt, how & when to use clock, when to call TO's, etc., are all ideas that Sark (or whoever) can either simply do as Saban would do, or Saban can allow them to make decisions as they see fit. For example - Not taking risks at the end of the half with any type of lead is a Saban trademark. No offense to the football coaches, but I don't see that type of game management as all that complicated.... And frankly, the game management is stuff we've struggled doing well in recent losses.

It could go worse, could go better, but the Saban factor happens way before gameday. And most great coaches would feel like they're team is coached well enough to execute at a winning level without them on gameday. We may see if that holds true!

Sark handling the HC duties (assuming he is, but we don't know that) would prevent him from huddling with the offense while the defense is on the field, no?

This would seem like a very big deal, especially against this defense.

i doubt it..... I see nick a lot over with O and D.....most when i am at game .....( sit behind bama sidelines )......
personally...i thin Sark can handle game situations with ease....

Was thinking about that this am. MO, the area it may hurt the most is in making (mostly defensive) adjustments, especially at the half. However, I'm also not so naive to believe that if there's an adjustment/message that Saban wants to get to the team, it'll get there. But even for Saban, not being able to see things from his normal vantage point is going to be difficult. Maybe UA sets him up with access to an All-22 feed? That would probably be best for a number of reasons, not least of which is it would keep him from destroying his TV midway through the 1st quarter when Gary won't stop harping on a late hit that wasn't flagged against Bama.

Another interesting aspect is, which off-field coach/analyst is added to the official on-field staff? Will Saban go offense or defense? Would imagine it would be Charlie Strong on defense if he goes that route.

Oh, also another big game management difference, Sark will actually use the timeouts!

Supposedly a prohibition, no communication among anyone not coaching on the field or in the press box throughout the game.

Thinking along those lines. Makes me thing back to 1999. Saban's last year at MSU. He loads up and heads to LSU you to start recruiting and leaves Bobby Williams and the entire staff at MSU. If memory serves me correctly, no one from MSU came with him to LSU. Fast forward to New Years Day. That MSU team without Saban beat a Spurrier coached Florida team in the 2000 Citrus Bowl.

This is proof that these dumb ass mask dont work,,,,CNS takes more precaution then most people and still gets it. The CDC report last week identified in a study that shows that 65 to 70 percent of those who contracted the Wuhan flu in mid summer wore mask. This flu is no different then the others that come along, they are all serious to those with health issues but has been totally over blown....

That 70% your referencing was a very limited sample iirc. Like 143 test cases were in that sample.

Charlie Strong seems to be a good choice to move to the field, but Nick hasn't asked me.

Can you only have so many coaches on the sideline? Is that why he's in an "off the field" position like Butch? I assumed it was a title because of vacancy surrounding coaches and they used that to add more and those guys were not allowed on the sidelines during a game due to title. I could be totally wrong though.

right about one thing in particular....theTV is in danger

If Saban tests negative today, tomorrow, and Saturday morning this isn't a discussion any longer.

There is nothing set in stone for the weekend.

I just read that he had two positive tests yesterday, so that would make that possibility even more unlikely.
