I don't get it. He was in the final year of his contract at 850K per...getting a million per is what they're reporting. And yes, returning most of their starters.

I know Van Gorder just took the DC position at Notre Dame, but I wonder if Richt would try and woo him away and try to recapture some of the magic from the early 2000's.

He was feeling the heat from a mile away. He was gone after next year anyways. At Louisville he'll be praised for only giving up 400 yards and 30 points a game. At Georgia, he was driving fans nuts, namely my father. He was as overpaid as they come and will welcome an environment like Louisville that isn't accustomed to a stout D like Georgia had throughout Van Gorder's days and what the SEC is used to.
