@planomateo Our old buddy, Chip.

The office of Texas A&M chancellor John Sharp has hotly disputed a report by Chip Brown of Horns Digest with an email to the Chronicle. Brown’s article touching on a handful of subjects involving Texas A&M is behind a paywall.

Here is the response from the chancellor’s office:

ā€œAustin-based sports blogger Chip Brown’s last attempt to report on Texas A&M football, on December 17, 2015, was apparently only the first in a series of fairy tales he intends to spin. Chancellor John Sharp made it clear to another reporter (Brent Zwerneman) that Brown’s speculation about him trying to get Kevin Sumlin fired was indeed a fairy tale

From a few minutes just surfing around.

Shoop is headed to UT for a little over one mill per year, three year contract. This is the same Shoop who Auburn made a run at and he ran. The same Auburn, who is shelling out 1.5+ to Steele in a three year deal (guaranteed, isn't it?)

There's the status of Bama's two biggest rivals through the eyes of a Coordinator in from the B1G who happens to have three years experience in the same position, in the SEC. I look at this as an offer, for more money, from one SEC school only to take the position at another.

It's a statement on job security with James Franklin at Penn State as well in my opinion.

UTSA makes a run at Tucker for their HC position. That's a no-go.

They have hired Frank Martin from LSU: a guy who arguably is their best recruiter.

Of note: The two hires made at Bama today for the DoPP positions both have strong ties to Louisiana. With LSU losing Martin, I'd suggest it's a good time to keep a closer eye on recruiting in that state. Their "fence" looks about like the one Lance constructed around Memphis.

Dennis Dodd knows nothing about Alabama football. Nothing.

Dodd, as most of the national writers, don't know anything about personnel decisions or coaching hires until they send out a Tweet saying "sources say" and those unnamed sources are the local papers—usually late at that.

He's a Mizzou guy, isn't he? I imagine he's pretty pissed right now especially with the basketball news. Or is that Forde ... OR, is it both?

Now, my logic test.

Lane Kiffin, while rebuilding his reputation under Saban, is in the spotlight as an offensive coordinator.

He's going to go work for a guy who calls his own plays—a situation where one of Kiffin's talents will not be on display.

Kiffin wants to be a head coach again so he's going to retreat into the shadows.

Okay.

Yep, passes the logic test, alright.
