🏈 Clowney "The Freak"

@SportsCenter

Jadeveon Clowney is frustrated with how he's being used in South Carolina's defense: "I told the coaches you got to put me somewhere else."

(Is this the second meltdown of 2013 we see with Heisman consideration?)

How many times did they mention the number of different ways Clowney was lined up against UNC?

12 sacks last year, 4 of them against Clemson...

Wondering why this isn't getting more press...

Interesting. Averaging as many excuses per game as sacks. And another excuse...

Damn the ball coach sending shots.

Clowney "The Freak"

Spurrier says Clowney told him just before game he couldn't play. "I will just say he told me he couldn’t play." ... DC Ward: "I was totally surprised" when Clowney said he couldn't play.

There are also reports of skipped practices. Not to mention his many "maladies" so far this season: flu, ribs, foot, etc.

Is the guy for real this season, or not?

Two things I find of interest.

 • Spurrier's press conference comments on Clowney yesterday make me wonder if the AD or school Pres. sat down with SOS and said, "look at the impact we'll get from the comments in the last week."
 • Two, let's not forget, who was it that publicly (and vociferously) told reporters he had Clowney for his Heisman winner last season? SOS. Spurrier did as much to put this spotlight on JC as his hit against Michigan.

Same ole Spurrier, opening mouth too soon and its funny watching him eat some crow. Wonder how much feedback he received from the locker room. Also curious if the interview where he sounded under some influence played into this as well (reprimanded twice in the same week so to speak).

Kudo's to the reporter for trying to dig into Spurrier's comments further.

Yep! That guy really got under SOS's skin. Does he always use something akin to notes during press conferences? It looked like he was reading a prepared line about Clowney.
