🏈 Chiefs player commits suicide after shooting girlfriend

Officially no, but its Javon Belcher. He shot himself in front of a team official and Head Coach Romeo Crennel after allegedly murdering his girlfriend. How the hell he (Crennel) would be in any way okay to coach tomorrow is beyond me.

Don't know whats up with this guy.

Taking another life and then taking your own life, you are a chicken shit punk.

Hope his girlfriends family can come to terms with whats suddenly happened just before the holidays.

Taking your own life is a selfish terrible thing to do. Pray for the girlfriends family and his. IT IS NOT OK TO SHOOT ANY WOMAN NO MATTER WHAT may have provoked it. Please talk with your children and especially your boys that southern chivalry is a noble way to treat women. It doesn't matter what happens in a relationship that could provoke you to violence. You can always walk away.

Think they will reschedule the game or keep it? Can't imagine what are going through the players head right now

As of last night, game will go on as scheduled.

Honestly, I think the coaches need to step back after witnessing the suicide. I can't believe they would be mentally able to show up and coach a game after that. I saw a comment on an article about this wondering if the Chiefs would honor Belcher (as they would a normal player who died) but there's no way; he MURDERED his girlfriend and ABANDONED his 3-month old baby girl. All they will do is have a moment of silence for the girlfriend, most likely.

It's just shocking and terrible. My prayers go out to the family, friends, and team.

Peter King nailed it.

Yeah I dont understand the people saying "R.I.P." to this guy and other things, he is a freaking MURDERER. Dude didn't just take his own life, he took someone elses too AND left a baby motherless (and fatherless). And if the stories are true he was mad over her coming home late! Unreal.
