🏈 CFB Awards Show

Also in regards to what pissed me off about Spurrier tonight, it was his body language. He and Frank Beamer were being interviewed about their careers and Spurrier didn't smile once. Coach Beamer looked like the happiest and most humble of men answering the questions. Spurrier did not look Beamer in the eye ONCE. He just sat there staring ahead with that smirk he wears all the time. Fuck him.

Freaking Henry killed it. Not sure why Ragland or the DL got overlooked. Something tells me they are gonna be one motivated bunch the next 2 games.
When was the last time someone swept the awards, including the Heisman? Seems like one person gets the Doak, one the Maxwell, and another the Heisman... or someone gets 2 but not all 3... hope this doesn't mean a bad omen for Saturday night.
Dabo just said he and Saban have a place on the beach together. Never heard that before.
So Saban is friends with all 3 of the other coaches in the playoffs..... interesting.

Even though the talking heads have switched over to McCaffrey, after last weekend, probably too little, too late. Many of the voters has already voted by the time they started pumping McCaffrey. ESPN expert poll had Henry blowing everyone else out until this week, now they have McCaffrey ahead. Then Vegas has Henry as a prohibitive favorite.

As for Dabo and Saban. I could see Dabo taking over for Saban when he finally hangs it up. Different styles but you don;t really want to be the same style following a legend. Also, Dabo was asked about ever going to Bama to take over for Saban and he said he couldn't rule it out.

Henry with one of his award.

Agree completely on both accounts. The McCaffrey pumping started last weekend, just a day or two before votes were submitted... and as you stated most were already in before that anyway.

Someone here had a conspiracy theory, that is probably truer than many would think- Vegas paying off people to vote one direction or the other.

As for Dabo taking over, I use to be on the fence but I could sure get behind it now. After Saban, you would think a sideline emotional guy like Dabo would be a mindfuck... but it would be a good thing having a different style/feel. He has proven himself and I'm sure if Bama offered today he would coach against Clemson in the title game haha

You'll find me on the other side of the fence because of what he has proven. He's a nice guy, a player's coach, a rah-rah coach, one who tends to stick his nose in some social issues ...

Wait.

The one type of personality, the one type of coach ... that son of a bitch mentality. Asshole. That's the type personality that has success at Bama. Think about it ... it's almost a job requirement. No. It is a job requirement. Even at its worse, the football program at Bama is a beast which requires that type of personality to master.

Dabo has proven he's not a son of a bitch. He's not that grade-A asshole. He's Mark Richt wearing Orange at an ACC school.

Proven.

And, now that I'm on my little rant.

Start with the PTB. Think about the academic side of UA. The athletic side. While time has whittled out some of those who want their hands in the football program—those people Saban keeps at bay—they are still lurking around: biding their time, if you will.

Can Dabo handle that group?

(this is going to deserve a thread of its own.)

Aight, check this out ... Dabo, Pruitt, et. al. got me thinking.

If Pruitt is indeed hired, it'll mean a Bama alum as a position coach: "a Bama guy." Think about UGA wanting a Georgia guy. Now, think about how long it's been since we've had a position coach that was a Bama alum.

The answer: 2000. And, if memory serves, it was two guys ... one of those, Dabo. (Neil Calloway.)

Have a buddy who's a cardiologist took care of spurrier when he was in the hospital in Florida for his heart. Said he was a total prick to nurses, docs and all the staff. Not a good guy. I never liked how he always blamed his players.

Come on tell us how you really feel about the OBC?:D Me I didn't like his snide remake he always makes.

For the last few year I have like me some WR players. Until I think mrchase did the A'Shawn coming out poster type deal. Well he got a a tril to the tent last Saturday, that worry me I think it was his elbow? So glad he alright. I also feel for Conner and the other that will be around him too.
