🏈 CFB Awards Show

They have been doing this for the past few years. Several of the less "sexy"awards have been awarded on the Red Carpet Special. It is on the U. They did the same with Barrett Jones when he won the Rimington.
As I remember it, they tell the players even earlier. I remember everyone finding out about Ro winning the Butkus when he tweeted or facebooked or something about "you think you're a good linebacker, then all the sudden you get called in the office and you're standing next to Dick Butkus"

They gave him the award (or at least let him know) a few days before any of the ceremonies.

Yeah there are a bunch of awards that are given out, outside of the awards show. The three that they gave out on the red carpet, they used to be on the show but they had to make room for things like stupid humor and little skits.

Spurrier is a prick. Never did like him, never will.

My best friend has a great story about him. My buddy was asked by a HS friend to accompany him to UF on a recruiting trip. Parents weren't going so he went as a guest. Needless to say, he had a great time tagging along, seeing the facilities, players, and enjoying the parties and girls. All was good until he met the OBC.

His friend was a college ready TE in HS. My buddy was 5'11" and maybe 165 soaking wet. So, they're on the practice field and Spurrier and an asst coach walk up. Spurrier talks to and flatters his friend then looks at my buddy with his well known scrunched-up face. Unaware that Andy (my buddy) was a guest, Spurrier looks him up and down quickly and turns to the Asst Coach and says "who the fuck is this guy." Andy's buddy said, "he's my guest, coach" Spurrier said, "well shit...good. I thought I was going have to fire someone's ass."

Andy's friend went on to play for the gayturs. Needless to say, Andy did not. He played a year of baseball at fsu until he tore up his shoulder, but has hated Spurrier ever since. The ass was dead serious. Never even looked Andy in the eye or said anything else. He just smirked and walked away.

Pretty sure he hasn't changed... still looks like an ass.

Derrick better have a big shelf for all this hardware.

On the other hand, Reggie did NOT look happy tonight. Suffice to say he still feels largely underrated by others. Prepare for pain MSU.

Burton Burns...pay the man.

Kinda funny remembering the comments about Henry not making it as a RB in college huh.
I wasn't too sure about him. I saw him play in HS on ESPNU and he was a beast running against what looked like a bunch of dwarfs. My main concern, on the rare occasions where they did not hand it to him, he just stood there like a statue. Saban said this year that DH told him he knew nothing about pass blocking, as his HS coached told him not to but he wanted to learn it all. That is one thing tape cannot tell you, what a kid's mindset/work ethic may be.

I'm so proud of him.
