Friends: After four unforgettable years on the Alabama beat, I have jumped at an opportunity that was too good to refuse. On Aug. 26, I will become the regional editor of the Florence (S.C.) Morning News. My last day in Tuscaloosa will be Aug. 19. What a pleasure it has been to document this historic time in Alabama football history. Decline is perhaps too mild a term. My wife tells me she gets enough value in coupons to pay for the subscription. Otherwise it is a piece of crap.
