I have an expansive Alabama history book that I can't recall right but is very good - I'll try to post it later.

The best history book I've every read on the State of Alabama is Rivers of History by Harvey? Jackson, a history professor at Jax State. He covers the history of the Coosa, Tallapoosa, Cahaba and Alabama Rivers and how they are woven into the history of Alabama. I highly recommend it.
