📝 Bryce Young will push for the starting job at Bama? (Young sets new record Friday night.)

Of course this is true. You can say that about any commitment, or any kid that signs with any school.

However, stating this tells me you don't know a lot about Young, his family, background, and what's been going on with him for A LONG TIME.

This isn't a limb you don't want to walk out on, Josh. It's getting to the point the tree can't take it any longer.

No, I don't know him and neither do you, Terry. But what limb, exactly, am I walking out on? You keep picking things I say to try and take them out of context for some reason. I say I dont think Mac Jones is a good QB and will struggle to move the ball at all against LSU, you twist that to mean I think he won't have success at Arkansas. Now, I say its crazy to make assumptions that a senior in high school will be starting at Alabama because we don't even know if he will be there yet into... Well, IDK exactly what you are implying here. You are implying that I'm saying he won't go to Alabama or that I don't THINK he will? Because nowhere have I said that. 17-18 year old kids are unpredictable, though. Shall I point to all of the blue chip players that have committed and then went elsewhere? Or the can't miss prospects that have gotten here and then never even stepped foot on the field? Speculation is fine but its pretty silly to speculate about guys that are in high school being starters a year from now. IN MY OPINION. Was that clear enough?

Josh has reason to question his commitment.... USC fans would agree.

I expect him to be at Bama, but his track record is what it is.

And alot of USC fans don't blame him for choosing Bama. USC is a dumpster fire and he felt more comfortable at bama ... especially with Sark. The kid has his head more on straight than 95% of these blue chippers. So I'll take who he is and his "track record" over most.

sigh I dont even know why I bother. Im not questioning anything other than acknowledging this is a 17-18 year old kid and until he signs his LOI we have no clue if will actually be on roster.

And I'll stand by my statement that he'll win the job at some point next year..and I'm not alone in that opinion. Taulia is good but not nearly as advanced as Young
So a hivh school player id more advanced than a CF player under a top OC in a top college football program.....that has actually played in a college football game.....
Really!!!!!!!!!!! Its still high school...period
If so someone needs to grab the QB coach from that high school ... Tuilia had those things sId about him as I remember!!!!

No, I don't know him and neither do you, Terry.
You're right, I don't know him personally. I do, however, know people who are associated with him; personally. These are people that talk to him and his family regularly. That circle happens to include people from USC. It happens to include people at his high school. It happens to include people who are on his high school team.

Hence the reason I said,

If you don't know a story how does one have reason to question said story? Forgive the analogy but that's akin to LeBron questioning what Morey knew about Hong Kong when he didn't know.

I mentioned Young over the summer when his name first started cropping up and mentioned how big of an "in" Bama had with him long before his public announcement while fully realizing how finicky the recruiting trail can, and will, be.

Knowing what I know about Bryce this was a suggestion I'd hope you would take to heart, @BamaBoyJosh

You can question whether any kid is going to be on campus even after he's signed. However, when you aren't familiar with the story it might be a good time to pause, no?

Now, I say its crazy to make assumptions that a senior in high school will be starting at Alabama because we don't even know if he will be there yet into...
This is very true in that making an assumption, today, he'll be starting next fall is certainly stepping out on a limb. The kid has special talent but that's one hell of a prognostication.

I say I dont think Mac Jones is a good QB and will struggle to move the ball at all against LSU, you twist that to mean I think he won't have success at Arkansas

Hang on. You said that about LSU to start. I'm not disagreeing with you there. But, when I asked you about what exactly you meant you left the LSU ingredient out of the conversation we were having.

"I don't believe Mac Jones is or will be an effective/competent quarterback. " (sic) Correct my reading comprehension if you will, but stating is (today) or will be (the future) isn't just talking about one game.

"I don't think he's accurate." (sic) Where's LSU in that one?
"I don't think he has pocket presence." (sic) Where's the LSU in that one?
"Pocket presence." "Taking command of the offense." Neither of those statements have anything to do with LSU as well.

I took what you wrote in context. I went on to mention how I appreciated the caveats (my opinion, I believe.)

This isn't the first time and I seriously doubt it'll be the last time I question the foundation of what your opinion is and what you're believing. To me, it's simply not clear why. If you have an issue with that, I sincerely apologize. To find an answer one has to ask, right?

Ironic that you take issue with me doing nothing other than saying "hey maybe don't count your blue chip QBs till they're at least on campus because YOU NEVER KNOW WITH 17-18 YEAR OLD KIDS" yet not with the initial comment of "he is so amazing that he will start day one." My "issue" is the most benign, reasonable thing you could possibly say.

This is very true in that making an assumption, today, he'll be starting next fall is certainly stepping out on a limb. The kid has special talent but that's one hell of a prognostication.

I don't think you have reading comprehension issues, I think you take offense that I don't believe Mac to be more than an average QB (which is actually a change for how I viewed him before this week actually), so you're taking things and twisting them to prove me "wrong." I still don't think he's accurate, I still think he has poor pocket presence. You kept pointing to me explaining why I don't think the offense will succeed against LSU - giving you my reasonings - as me somehow saying he would struggle against Arkansas. Alabama could have lined up a walk-on against Arkansas and been able to score points and move the ball. They are hideously bad on defense. Period.

I seriously do not want to keep harping on this because now it just feels like I'm dumping on Mac, which I do not want to do. BUT with that said... and let me preface this by saying that Mac settled in after the first few series and made some nice throws and built up some confidence to not have that deer caught in headlights look anymore. But, to me that credit goes to Sark, and yep I'm giving Sark props here (which he really deserves for most of the season). 90% of Mac's throws in that first half were pop passes, screens, etc. with the ball traveling no more than 2-yards down the field. When he went downfield he missed wide open guys or got bailed out by a receiver he wasn't throwing to, BUT after all of those little short passes and having success built up his confidence he started hitting on those deeper passes. Credit to Mac for making the throws but even more credit to Sark for making it happen.

@BamaBoyJosh Perhaps, just perhaps, I find some of your football observations both bewildering and interesting at the same time? I can say I've never taken anything you've said about a player or the team personally or offensive.

As to the irony of this conversation we're having...

Perhaps you've missed it in the past. I don't know. I do know I've spoken about the author of the article on more than one occasion and it's always been an observation or comment expressing A LOT of doubt. It's nothing against Henderson. I don't know him personally. I do know he's said and written some things that were highly questionable since his recent association with the Alabama contingent on Rivals.

I did dismiss the comments about him starting because of its source.

No recruiting expert ever said the things about Taulia that they've said about young. Taulia is talented but he was considered a raw prospect...Alabama 7a football is very good but Young has played some of the best teams in THE COUNTRY. When arse hole Mike Farrell said " ive learned not to bet against Bryce Young"

I mean I can't help that, Terry lol I'm just a bewildering person I guess. And I wasn't referring just the author of video article, more so EVERYONE that's saying this (him and those in here).

And I think I'm just gonna give up with the Mac take. I feel how I feel, wrong or not, and I'm just gonna sit back and root for the kid to do well if/when he's called on.

Just wait until the Sunday after A-day. We'll find us a group of six people with three saying "Bama has three All Americans" and three more saying "All three will transfer."

At least we can agree Kanye is an immense talent. 😈

Don't see what's so funny. Everything I said is true. He's actually had the balls to support a president amidst all the hypocrisy in his industry

Oh good grief. You only "admire" him because he's espousing things you agree with. When he "bucked the system" and stood on national TV and said George Bush was a racist, I guarantee you didn't say the same thing. This is the part about politics and celebrity that I hate the worst. Its also "shut up and dribble" (or the like) until someone says something you agree with. Go listen to some of this lunatics "sermons" aka rants and tell me you admire him. Kanye and Trump are a perfect pair. Not only are they both malignant narcissists but also unbelievably petty human beings. Obama sat on national TV and called Kanye West a moron, so now he's pretending he loves him some Donald Trump - even though Trump stands for every single thing he has claimed to be against his entire career - I'm sure that's just a coincidence, though.
