What's sad to me is how quickly things can be spun these days. People aren't even thinking clearly about this thing, just making quick decisions because of what they think was said/done.

His gold digging ex-girlfriend got exactly what she wanted.

I wonder about the legality of taping someone without their consent. Was it ever stated he did give consent to be recorded? Just seems very odd. He's still a racist prick who doesn't deserve to make money off people he claims to hate, but there are still laws in play here.

If the recording happened in California and he was not aware she was recording then it was illegal. That being said, it can't be used in a court of law as evidence and therefore he could possibly win a lawsuit against the NBA if they attempted to use the recording as evidence. What he needs to do now is call the police and press charges against her.

None of this is said to mean that he should be allowed to keep the franchise or not face fines and bans from the NBA. He is acting like an old time plantation owner trying to get rich off a group of people he hates.

Was he ticked one of them was flaunting her other relationships in the public eye? Sure. And what about players, who are either outwardly racist and/or say racist things in the locker room, to friends, on the court, etc.? Wondering how Kareem's comments will be received, considering he's been someone exiled from the NBA coaching ranks.

And yes, from things I've read, coaches and players have known about Sterling for a while, but now they want to get on their high horses and get all offended and boycotting games. The Clippers coaches/players were more than happy to take his money for this long...why get upset now?

Bomanni Jones basically said the same thing Monday. Called out people for supporting and playing for him despite knowing (since at least 2009) that he was a racist prick. Also had this to say:

Over the last 20 years I have become increasingly less interested in the NBA. It has been known for years that Sterling is a racist prick. All the pompous braying at this point by players, former players, talking heads, etc. has killed what little interest that I still have.

Do those fines come out of allocated monies from TV revenue? IE: Like a payroll deduction, per se?
