🏈 Bobo out at the Barn

Will be interested to see who Harsin goes with... it'll say a lot about where the program is headed, IMO. My auburn friends are not real confident, they seem to think he will slide in the WR coach that he promoted during the season. They also mentioned Jeff Grimes who has been there before as OL coach under Chizik and is currently OC at Baylor. Add to that, Bo Nix (hayseed), not committing to returning... can they get a good/decent QB from the portal wood pile?

Is this fool seriously considering going early in the draft or transferring?

The way he worded it during an interview yesterday seemed like he was looking at transferring so that he could get drafted. Not sure if he meant for it to sound that way, but it did. He certainly didn't go out of his way to say he was staying at auburn.

Funny thing is... Bobo actually coached Nix to be a half decent QB within one year of coaching. Previous coach didn't do squat to coach a QB in all the years he was there... go figure. Maybe he's going to follow BoBo where he goes since they guy actually coached him up.

Why would he be fired?
Their offense had a lot of issues down the stretch that their defense couldn't cover. 226 total yards and 3 points against A&M. Lots of scoring in the first half against State but a complete collapse in the second half. 14 points in the first 12:30 against SCar then only 3 more. And that game against Bama with a total of 159 yards. He's a scapegoat, but they felt their defense was fine. Funny enough, the Defense was ranked 57 (369 ypg with 30 TD) and the offense 63 (405 YPG with 38 TD) so they are really close together.

Pretty much what you would expect with a Barn team or a 6-6 team...

Right now Nix is a backup NFL QB (rounds 4-7). He needs more development at the position. Will he get it at AU? Depends on who they bring in as the OC. If he goes anywhere else, what are his chances at earning the starting job? IMO, his best option is to stay at AU.

He was looking better this year for sure. Still inconsistent, but his overall play was much better.
