🏈 Bo or Damien: Who's getting the carries

Bo Scarbrough is CLEARLY our second best tailback. As far as next week, I'm saying forget Damien Harris - Bo needs the lion's share of the carries in preparation for the home stretch.
Damien hasnt impressed me at all. He's not bad, but he has no NFL prospects

I haven't seen enough of either with the 1st team OL to make an assessment. Damien's got talent.

So a kid that has had maybe a total of 3 carries with the starters and is a freaking freshman is a lost cause and has "no NFL prospects" in your vastly experienced scouts eyes? Good to know, hopefully someone bookmarks this post and can reference back to it when you are praising Harris in a couple of years.

I thought i may have missed some games where he had significant playing time or something.......

I think it's been discussed that Harris is playing because he knows his assignment and Bo doesn't. If a RB doesn't know his assignments, I don't know how he can be the best option.

Looked like aside from Kickoff, Harris played maybe 1-2 more snaps than Bo. It's not like Harris was actually in the game plan before Drake went out.

Regardless, this is why these guys need to get legit carries as early as possible in blowout situations. Harris has bare minimum experience at this point in the season, and Bo has even less. Obviously it's been a blessing that Henry has stayed this healthy and carried the load, but there's a good chance that another back is going to play a legitimate role in winning and losing a game.

The real shame is that it appeared Drake was coming on last week and we didn't get to see him build on that. He has some special potential.

He's had many more than 3 carries this year if you've been watching the games. More like 30+ carries
Regardless, i may be a spoiled Alabama fan, but our 1 and 2 backs have both been 1st round draft picks for a WHILE. Mark Ingram, Trent Richardson, Eddie Lacy, TJ Yeldon, and Derrick Henry are all legit first round talents and were all the #2 at some point.
I just want our #2 back to be an NFL starter, and Damien Harris isn't that type of talent. The sooner he gets passed on the depth chart the better.
Today the same hole that D Harris was getting 5-6 yards on, Bo was getting 9.
My point is that if Henry and Bo were a solidified 1-2 punch, our run game would be deadly. i just wish the staff would put all their eggs in the Bo basket and get him up to speed.

And yes, I do have scout vision. I called for Coker to be the outright starter from day one, which would have us as undefeated. I had to listen to all of the dumbasses berate Coker and talk about how horrible he was, and that Bateman was better, etc. Coker is a winner with a huge frame and a huge pair. #Intangibles

You thought Coker was better than Blake, bro.

Damien Harris was the #1 RB prospect coming out of HS. Give him a little more of a chance.

So, you've not only got scout vision, but you're smarter than the coaching staff? Because well if Bo was "CLEARLY" better then we'd never see Damien, I mean our coaching staff only has three NCs, but hell what does that prove really?

Gotta love college football fans, where the 2nd and 3rd string guys are always better than the starters.

Burton has proven for a long time now that he is a great RB coach, as @uofarolltide points out, we've had some bad ass running backs. I won't question what Burton is doing or why he's doing it. He clearly knows more than I do, he works with these guys in the film room and on the field.

I've been waiting to see Bo run in crimson for the last few years. Just happy to see him get his shot finally.

At the end of the game, when State had thrown in the towel and we had pulled the starters, the two seemed to get equal carries. Perhaps this was an audition for the Drake role in the offense.

Let's not forget Jake threw two INTs in that loss to Ole Pisa... He was a big part of why we lost too...

Harris more than likely has had more reps and understands the blitz pickups better than Bo at this point... my guess is that Harris get's the lion share of the looks, but I don't know how quickly Bo has been able to understand his assignments. Bo also almost fumbled the ball in one of his carries last night. He might not yet have the ball security the coaches want to see. I'd love to see Bo in there is the solid #2, but not at the lose of ball security and blocking assignments. I trust the coaches understand how to handle this situation as it was always a good possibility to come to reality as it has now.
