| TV/MOVIES/MUSIC Best war movie?

I know I've shared this, but he deserves remembering. Band of Brothers Pacific was based in part on With the Old Breed by Eugene Sledge, of Mobile. He was the scrawny mortar guy in the show. By most accounts, his is the best enlisted account of WWII, because you'd get court-martialed if you kept notes. He wrote in his Bible. His book, his true account, is much better than watching it, although the bunker TV scene is pretty good.
Helmet for my Pillow by Lackey was a good read as well.

Band of Brothers, by Ambrose, beats both in my opinion.

In no particular order, as all that have been posted so far are pretty damn good.

Patton (With George C. Scott, First one I remember as a kid).
We Were Soldiers.
Apocalypse Now (Robert Duvall's character was great IMO).
Fury.
All's Quite on The Western Front.
Gallipoli.
The Alamo.
Full Metal Jacket
Platoon.
Where Eagles Dare
The Dirty Dozen
Guns of Navarone
Tora Tora Tora
Tobruk
Dunkirk.

Folks, I could go on and on, I don't think I can name a best. 😁 Of Course, Saving Private Ryan, Band of Brothers are top notch.
