🏈 Being #1 or No#2 does it really Matter?

Right now I think Bama just need to keep those eyes on what in front of them. That is LSU, Yes Mercer, than Barner, the SEC game. We all know that those top four will change before the end of the season. So does it really matter where Bama is at right now!

Nothing really matters right now... this is just a snaphot of where teams are at the moment. If Bama wins out, we will be #1 most likely as an undefeated team that beat UGA, LSU and au i the closing weeks. It really matters not where we are ranked as the process to get to the playoff is the same regardless of beging 1,2,3,4 or any other number... win out.

the only time when rankings do matter, is the final week. and all you need to worry about then is if you're in the top 4 or not. other than that, it doesn't matter one bit. people put way too much stock in those numbers.

I know a lot of folks are downplaying the fact we're not #1, and very true that right now it does not matter one bit, BUT, it still sucks not being #1. In the end, all that matters is that we are atleast #4, because I think us as a fanbase understand the chances of us getting beat twice is slim to none and that's why we feel good about winning it all. As Alabama fans, we know we have a better team than Georgia, and deep down I think Kirby knows that as well. I have already had Georgia friends and family text me and mess with me at work about them being #1. I think it just goes to show that they have been there almost none, that their greenhorn mentality is already showing, not realizing right now doesn't matter. So while I will say it doesn't matter at this moment to sound redundant, it does suck not being acknowledged as the best when you know your team is the best. Wouldn't shock me to regain #1 with an ass kicking of LSU this weekend.

It only matters after the SEC Championship. If Alabama is #2 or #3, they will probably have to play in the Rose Bowl instead of the Sugar Bowl for round 1. That's a long way for travel and for fans to follow.

"Heavy is the head" and the dawgs will get a working definition of how that goes. Bama teams get very little credit for wearing the number 1 tag week after week. I'm looking forward to this Georgia team navigating amen corner through November. You can't prepare for what you don't know.

I agree. Its one of the best things that could have happened for Bama. We all know that if Bama wins out the reg season they will play UGA in SEC champ. The question is if Bama or UGA loose...will they still stay in top 4? If Bama wins in SEC Champ game and if its a close game....Bame will rise to Number 1 and UGA may drop to number 4 meaning we would have to play them again in the first round of the champs. UGA is the only team in the top 4 that scares me. UGA has always had the talent.....now they have upgraded to a Coach who is a miniature Saban and knows all our ins and outs. Its a worst case for Bama. From the min i heard Kirby was leaving for UGA i instantly thought ...these guys are gonna be good. And im not sure if yall have been watching but UGA looks really good right now. Iv been saying it for weeks.

Bama has 3 playoff games until (if)they get to Atlanta. Round 1 vs LSU. The rest doesn't matter. The team that wins the SEC will be in the Playoffs and I am hopeful that will be Bama. We'll see...but only one week at a time.

I want to go on record as saying the freshmen RB for UGA Swift is a Hoss....elite......so far UGA's year is so very similar to Bama's 2008 year.
