Just wondering we talk so much about how our WR will do with Julio gone and Hanks missing 2 games so what do you guys think our TE will do. Usually a young QB safety valve is a TE so do you think Smelly our Williams can have a big impact and a big year in the passing game?

One thing Williams has learned is that being a friend to quarterbacks is in his best interest.

"You have to get to know them, take them out to eat, do all that stuff to make them throw you the ball," Williams said with a laugh.

At 6'6", it's real hard for any DB to cover Williams. Although, I think Smelley is a better threat against the secondary. Both have been working a lot with the two QB's and as much as McElwain loves having TE's involved in our scheme I expect both of these guys to have between 25-35 receptions, combined, this year.

I would like to see the Bama offense throw to the tight ends a little more especially in the red zone. Not that I like to copy Auburn, but it is a fact that they had a lot of success throwing to their tight end in the red zone last year. Also, Alabama needs to use more play action pass in the offensive scheme which would free up the tight ends and receivers more I think.

Interestingly enough, they only had one more TD from their TE's than we did last year. They didn't have as many receptions as we had as well.

I enjoy it when teams throw to the tight end. Some coaches seem to be unaware that he is actually an eligible receiver.

Colin Peek was a SUPERB addition for the 2009 team. I'll never forget his TD vs the Gators in the SECCG.
