🏈 Backfield for BCSCG

I'm curious if we may see alot of Ingram and TR in the backfield at the same time. Wouldn't that make it more difficult for Texas to defend having to key on both backs? I dont recall right off hand if Bama did this alot or if at all this season but I think it may happen in the National Title game...I know I would do that....

Any thoughts about this?

Sorry if this is a repeat topic.

I can't recall Bama lining up with two backs very much during the season.

Lining them up on either side of McElroy out of shotgun could prove to be effective, especially if have a few plays where you hand it off to both and work in some play-action to Ingram.

I don't see where we would need to do anything different, considering no one else was able to stop us. Is Texas better that Florida, and so much so that we have to now invent a new path in hopes to surviving? No.

Plus, we have better talent, better athletes. We benefit from put athletes one-on-one in space - in a sense a spread mentality. If we go two backs, they can drop another defender in the box. As it stands, our bruisers have good odds. We want Bruiser on Bruiser, not a gang fight in a phone booth.

Besides, running one at a time allows the other to rest while being coached up.

We havent run very much two-back set this season other than goalline and short yardage. With the personel of Ingram and Richardson you'd just about have to do it out of the gun unless one is gonna line up a fullback. I recall Upchurch lining up at FB a few times this year with Ingram or Richardson in the game. It could happen on every once in a while, but it's really not a part of the base offense. I really don't see a need for it too much.

Both in the back field would be great. But what if we could put three in the backfield. Mark,Trent and Ray, Oh!! I mean Roy. Still have Greg too back there.
