While that sounds cool and all, he technically can't "practice" because of the limit, AND if a Bama player were to snub the ceremony it would A) be in bad taste, and B) probably hurt any future players chances.

I have a feeling (and I've been checking the stiffarmtrophy.com site) that all those awards for McCoy, Gerhart, and Suh are going to be consolation prizes. Ingram is the favorite for the Heisman with enough votes in to make the prediction.

Statistically, Ingram lags the other "name" offensive players in absolute statistics. Despite having two legitimate award candidates in our backfield, Saban's team approach to rushing hampers individual awards.

If this sounds familiar, think of Coach Bryant's willingness to share the carries and then dominated in the fourth quarter. Think of Johnny Musso. If Coach Bryant had ridden him like OJ or Steve Owens and given Musso 350 carries a year instead of 150 to 190, he'd have put up monster stats. In the same manner, Gerhart got the ball 90 more times than Ingram this year, so there's an inequity there because of Bama's depth and Saban's philosophy.

If Ingram or Richardson never make it back to NY, but they have rings each year I think everyone will be happy.

RTR,

Tim

"BINGO! That's a good'un."

Wow. We got hosed. Saban and Ingram did not look too pleased.

That's only because they'd rather be watching film, than, well..., anything else right now. If it didn't help recruiting with exposure, I'll bet they would have thought it was a total waste of time.

but, this stat says it all. Unfortunately, apparently half the voter can't even read.

Ingram is averaging 178 yards per game against Top 25 teams
