🏈 Attrition: You'll hear of it hitting our RB corps here pretty soon...

my guess would be Fowler, I don't think he's going to get the PT out of Lacey, Richardson or Hart

I would agree with this too, but it would seem to me that he would move to the defense. My memory is sketchy, but for some reason I was thinking he was looked at LB too.

Having said all that, it is that time of year where guys are told that they either have what it takes to contribute or they will ride the pine. Freshman will start reporting "officially" in about 45 days or so and we have to get down to the "85"

yeah, I mean Richardson is the starter, Lacy seems to be the solid #2 (unless his fumble fingers cost him) and Hart is our new stud on campus, so that only leaves Fowler. He is pretty good, maybe even a starter on some teams, but I don't think he'll ever get the PT as long as those other 3 on the roster.

You guys remember the wheel route Shaun made so successfully back in the late '90's?

FWIW, Fowler runs that type of route better than any back we have on campus right now. He's got an amazing sense of balance and the ability to turn up-field WHILE maintaining possession.

I suspect he'll see some PT this year in circumstantial situations we'll end up talking about Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday...

u talkin bout that route he burned Florida and LSU on? always wondering why in the world Seattle never let him run any routes other than screens. he had very underrated hands.

Yes. Well, sort of. We run an abbreviated version of it right now...sort of a hybrid screen / wheel route to our 'backs.

We had a drill we were running in spring camp. It was a type of wheel route with the QB's pass coming over the outside shoulder on the sideline. Coach Burns was stationed at the "point of reception" with the intent of either knocking the ball out or knocking our receiver out of bounds. There was only one player who was consistently catching the ball, staying in bounds, and turning up field.

Fowler.

Considering we are at the beginning of the summer sessions we may not hear anything "official" on this for a few weeks. I don't know when Saban's next press conference is scheduled. It may be as late as the media days before fall camp.
