🏈 GAME THREAD 🏈⭐ LSU vs Alabama ⭐🏈

So...here’s the thing...Georgia needs to beat the barn next week so that they won’t have a shot at the playoffs. Unbelievable that those fuckers are still ranked so highly and still in the playoff discussion after 2 losses

Not sure I agree, my opinion below.

Auburn needs to beat Georgia, then we beat Auburn. We don't need Auburn losing more, we need them as high as possible for our resume. Georgia clinches the SEC East if they beat Mizzou tonight, but 2 losses in the regular season and a loss to LSU (or Alabama) in the SEC championship will end UGA's shot at the final CFP ranking.

Basically need 2+ loss SEC East teams to help push for a 2nd SEC West team in the CFP rankings.

Losing to #2 LSU by 5 is much different than losing to unranked Kansas State (OU) or unranked South Carolina (UGA).

OU is gonna put up crazy scores the rest of the season (bet over on OU going forward) as a way to overcome the loss to unranked Kansas State by 7 points. Baylor is the wildcard in the Big XII. But think the Big XII gets a spot, unless something crazy happens.
  • Big XII
  • SEC
  • B1G
  • ACC (Clemson)
Still weeks left, so anything can happen. Keeping the game close will help our cause, but we need other help as well.

Not what I saw. I saw a bama team that played poor D and a team that struggled especially in the first half with to many turnovers and mistakes. More about bama's bad play and mistakes than LSU's great play. My opinion.

I'd agree, I think this was more about Alabama's miscues vs LSU's defensive plays.

I don't like a reportedly relaxed Nick Saban during big game week.

Yall do realize LSU's remaining schedule is Arkansas, Ole Miss and Texas A&M, right? They are not losing. Alabama is not getting into the playoffs. Hopefully we can blister Auburn and land a halfway decent bowl that half the team doesn't sit out for it.

Given, Bama played bad the first half, caused by the pressure LSU put on our offense. Burrow answered the Tides scoring by leading his team to a score and the win. Our defense had 3 straight chances to get off the field on 3rd and long, late in the 4th and could not do it. Burrow made plays and we didn’t. Tua should heart playing on one foot and Harris carried the offense. Bama was outplayed and out coached, especially on our defensive side.

I do not think any of our bonehead turnovers were caused by LSU putting pressure on our offense - If you take away (I know we can't) these unforced turnovers (tua's phantom unforced fumble, punt snap fumble, and interception that was not caused by pressure but a bad read from Tua) what does that game look like?

Add on top of that #7 letting #22 be more physical than him and getting a first down. If he tackles him at the spot LSU has to punt instead of going on to score. I guess I could give #22 more credit than I am doing.

What about the call on the receiver going out of bounds in the first half but being awarded the catch at the 1 yard line anyway. If LSU does not get that call they are likely looking at scoring only 3 points instead of 7.

Man a lot of stuff that was not about what LSU did. Heck even when we pulled within one score in the 4th qtr if #15 does his job and takes the QB/Burrow on the RPO as he should have they stop LSU on that drive and hold them to a FG.

Bama plays a clean game (no turnovers) and the score at a minimum is swapped and that is still with how poor our D played.

Sunshine in The Ham and Hardee's had them biscuits ready as well. I would love to hear the conversation that Nick and Terry is having this fine AM. Got to get the Tide ready to play a very difficult game with Miss State this Saturday. Don't allow the team that beat you on Saturday to beat your again next Saturday. I would love to see someone take the spots of 7,21,5, and 36 on defense. 3 seniors I know but they ain't it. Nick is very loyal to those players that have done it right so I expect them to continue to start regardless.

JMO but Diggs should have never been moved from offense (receiver) but he wanted to start and moving to defense was the only way to get to start. He is a great athlete but he's not a DB.

I am seeing a lot of what ifs and excuses, but the story is that LSU is a solid ball team. Something not many on this site wanted to admit. Everyone kept acting as if they beat not so great teams and their defense was blah, but in reality they came to our house and beat our ass. Everyone keeps talking crap about Coach O, but the guy outcoached us. I've been saying for two years to watch this team and get put down for saying it. But hopefully now we see that we aren't untouchable and other teams can come in and beat us. This game had the 2017 Auburn feel to me, even though I bet money on us to try and relieve that feeling. We have A LOT to work on as a defense as I have been suggesting, but we still have it all in front of us. Sometimes the best needs to get beat to be humbled and come back hungry. Can't win them all, and I'm ready to see how we respond. Roll Tide.

I agree with what you said. We can play the what if game all day but we did not win the game for whatever reason, bottom line LSU was better YESTERDAY bc they took advantage of their opportunities and we kept shooting ourself in the foot (no pun intended with Tua).

I could see this coming. I told some admin's back on Thursday I would take a 1 pt victory before the game and be elated. Where was the focus? Who are the leaders on this team? So much attrition be it injuries and those players to early draft. This team is just not as good as those in the past. Penalties and turnovers killed in this game. 14 pts in the last 33 seconds of the first half. LSU's lone turnover was negated by a penalty.
