🏈 GAME THREAD 🏈 Vanderbilt - 14 vs Alabama - 30

I don't have a position because I never made any efforts to state my position, because it's not necessary at all. I don't need to do that. I choose not to go back and forth with people who can't seem to find anything positive in anything what Bama did on the field. It's always something negative associated with that. That's what I'm seeing and It's quite disturbing.

No teams are perfect. Texas A and M wasn't perfect this past weekend. Georgia wasn't perfect. Miami wasn't perfect. First half wasn't great yesterday, but the fact how they made adjustments after the first two drive in 2nd half impressed me the most. It spoke a lot about the team's resilience and how focused they were. It's that situation that they can lend on for experience going forward. We will not have a perfect team. Someone is always going to miss tackles. Someone is going to have assignment bust. Someone is always going to miss a hole. Someone is always going to drop a pass. Someone is always going to miss a read on throw. Someone is always going to miss a blitz.

Bottom line: the team is much better mentally and emotionally compared where they were against FSU. You can see them making progress little by little week in and week out. That's all we can ask for from this team, making progress each week. Bama can shut out Mizz this weekend and there will always something to complain about. DUDE just be happy with the win. Just enjoy the damn win. Saban's team wasn't perfect either and they found ways to win.

Umm, nobody said we have to be perfect. You as well as anyone on here knows all to well about The Process. Even when we went perfect 15-0 one year, we celebrated and went back to work because that team was no more. Same thing here. Go back to work and get better. Ultimately these guys want to make the NFL, which means they need to be better and develop more than where they were when they came out of high school. That is a lot of hard work, commitment, film study, discipline, weight training, personal workouts and self-reflection. Yes, we only gave up 21 against Georgia and 14 against Vanderbilt, but there is plenty to get better on. You never stop working to be better. Yes, some folks on here are never satisfied and want to bitch about something in life or they aren't fulfilled, but we aren't winning a Championship unless we get better. You yourself put Vanderbilt down and weren't worried about them. Let's not forget they played us even in the first half, and peobabky better than us if not for Ty's amazing led drive before half. We gotta continue to get better. Just like you keep saying about the offensive line, it's a work in progress and we can make comments about where we felt we struggle without getting to smart ass comment or shaking of the head from folks. I'm not satisfied and I hope you aren't, the coaches, or the players either.

That was under Saban. That was his process. That's what he demanded. We have CKD. His process is different, but he demands the same thing in a different way.

I didn't think Vandy would win against Alabama and yes, I stood on that. It was a strong conviction on my end. It was based on what data I was looking at, the schedule, and the vibes between both team. It was Thursday evening, and I was reading what Vandy player was saying and at that point, I said I hope Alabama responds to that. I hope they come out and play the game I expected them to do that. Saturday morning, I get a text from a friend and they said that they were super nervous about Vandy and it feels like a game we could lose. I said nah. I"m not concerned.

Opening drive. 8 plays, 46 yards. 4th and 1. I said to myself, just run the ball and we should eventually get a TD. Instead, he threw an INT. Few minutes later, 6 plays 94 yards and TD for Vandy. I at then said, "Let's see how they respond to that." Alabama kept marching down the field almost every drive... but we couldn't finish half of the time. That fumble caused by Bama defense... that was turning point for me and I said, "Yup, We good." I knew we would be just fine after that. That TD before half time, confirmed it. The second half adjustment confirmed what I've been saying all week... Just set the edge, finish the play and keep moving down the field.

I even made a bet saying Alabama would rush over 80 yards. That's how confident I was last week.

Now, Don't get me started on Mizz..... You definitely ain't going to like what I have to say about them for this week. Here's a hint: We should blow them out.

We should blow them out.

You know The Process as Saban, but what is different is a lot of us went through a process with our respective athletic careers and upbringings. And who cares if people hold this team to a Saban standard. We won at an extremely high rate with that, so it isn't the worst thing to hold anything we do to that standard. You're telling me when Saban left you were immediately ok with us being a an 8 win team because maybe the "standard" changed?

You think running for 80 yards is some kind of high bar to bet on? You want to go out on a limb and demonstrate your confidence bet we will hold the opposing team to 80 yards or less or that we will rush for 180 yards. Either of those bets would demonstrate confidence..

It's ok to find things to work on. You don't have to get upset with the fact we need to clean up on a number of things. We go through a rough slate of games here coming up. These homerun ttpe runs coukd be a difference maker. We have extremely little room for error due to the Florida State loss, and a number of tough games coming. I'm a defensive guy and I see we need to clean up a number of things. It's ok I didn't kiss Domani and Bray's ass against Georgia. It's ok I feel Lawson is a liability for us on defense anymore. You can't prove me wrong for thinking any of those things because there is plenty of tape to prove there is plenty to work on there.

We have played well the last two weeks, but if we want to win a Natty, it better get cleaned up sooner rather than later with the misses assignments and questionable tackling.
In the long 65 yard run, the Left side DE got blown up on a double team pushing him back over 5 yards and the DB/Safety/LB didn't fit the hole well... although not knowing the assignments I can't say who busted, but the DE just made a bad play for sure. To me the DE was the one that caused that hole to open so big. I not sure who that was on that play... I have not gone back to look...

The bright side on D is that I see progress every week... of course there are some step backs too... but in general it seems a s unit they are making progress and the scheme is looking better as they start to execute it better.

Watched the replay and takeaway was about the same. Only single digit game with 17 seconds but mainly because they stalled out in scoring position, Was an unusual day as they are usually better than that.

On another note, in watching the replay looked like Russaw was in the game. I thought he was out for a longer time.

FWIW, he was definitely not playing yesterday...
