He has a GREAT bourbon selection (which is part of why Greg knows about him...Greg has a nice shelf.) I've mentioned his shop a few times over the years. I first found out about it just before Fluff was running the stairs in Coleman...those two had a good friendship.
I see he has Heaven's Door Whiskey, Bob Dylan's brand. I received a bottle of that for my birthday as part of a bourbon subscription, haven't tried it yet. Looking them over, nice collection, I guess I've had twenty or so of them.

Many tasty options there. Of those I've tasted, the Angel's Envy is the easiest drinking of the bunch. The Elijah Craig...if it's good enough for Barbara Bush's last hours, it's good enough for me.

I'll have to look again and count. I remember seeing the bottle of 1816 and I hadn't tried that one. 'Twasn't too bad.
You've pissed me off a bit this morning...went to look at a few of the bottles to see what I have on hand and several have dust on them. Now I need to find the feather duster...which I can't...so do I end up buying one just to find the other?
It's a regional spelling difference that's grown over time. The gentleman at Glengoyne Distillery along the West Highland Way said all scotch is whisky while we spell it with an "e" here, as well as in Ireland. The use of peat and a mandatory three year aging makes it scotch, but it's whisky when it's still clear. Here, it's all whiskey, and the rules of bourbon determine if it is also called that.
I've never been a fan of scotch, but they were generous with me, letting me sample a few things at Glengoyne, and it was tasty. I brought back two minis of 12yo and one mini of 18yo. Waiting for a winter evening to sample one of the 12's.

I have a good friend, part of a core group of couples who were all in our neighborhood at one time in Kennesaw. He loves Blanton's, by the way, but he's from Iowa - and a longsuffering fan of Iowa football - and a cheerleader for his state almost on par with me. For his 60th birthday, I found three bottles of Iowa whiskey for him as a gift. One, I had to order through a large local store, so I ordered two and kept one, a single malt. I went through my bottle quicker than he did. They make good whiskey out there. I got him a Templeton Rye, a Cedar Ridge American Single Malt (the one I ordered an extra), and a Cedar Ridge Bottled-In-Bond (found it at a liquor store in N. VA), both showed in the link.
Cedar Ridge Whiskey from Iowa’s first distillery brings you the best Midwest whiskey from America’s beloved grain belt. Whether you are after a bottle of
The 12 is in the $75-80 range, the 18 is around $150 or so if you can find it. They had 25 year old at the duty free shop on my way out at Edinburgh and it was 599 pounds, which is roughly $800. I was not tempted.

I think the thing lost on most is its a one, maybe two, drink night. You mentioned mini-bottles. 3 oz of Blue, or its ilk? I'm good. And you know I can drink a little.
I love the scotch on the patio under the blooming crepe myrtles in the summer time breeze in the evenings...
