🏈 GAME THREAD 🏈 The 2026 Bowl Games / CFB Playoffs:

Good ol' prevent defense. No pressure on Beck whatsoever. It did its job. It prevented Ole Miss from winning.

We saw that for a number of years in Tuscaloosa.

All that being said, Ole Miss played extremely well this season and you gotta admire their fight after that shit show their AD allowed to go on during the season. They went on to win two Playoff games and almost a third. Round if applause to their players and those coaches.

Isn’t it ironic to see the Brockmeyer kid at center for Miami and they are running at will on the ground. He couldn’t get on the field in Tuscaloosa, and look at our run game.
Context would have to include he wasn't getting the starting nod over Parker Brailsford. He's a redshirt senior; he would be on the bench at Bama.

I don't see a reason for "love lost" feelings (no suggestion you feel this way.) His deal with TCU was set before he entered the portal at Bama. He was under the "no contact" tag as soon as his entry was announced. He's in Miami now because he got into a dispute with TCU on his NIL money.

I hear you and don’t disagree. Just ironic. Their run game was killer. They were opening pretty big holes last night and in the previous playoff games. Glad to see him doing well and finally living up to his billing.

Interesting observation. All 4 QBs from the final 4 are transfers and all 4 are in their first year starting for their current teams.

Run game was beautiful for miami...big holes. Runner accelerated through them.

"Those were the days my friend...we thought they would never end"

Watching the game last night I had deja vu all over again. Every time the Canes scored on a busted assignment or missed tackle, the camera would pan to Golding with that mouth open, furrowed brow, and utter confusion. I thought to myself yep I remember that look when the Bama defense gave up a 78 yard TD. Golding is one of the most over rated DCs in college football. His defenses are always undisciplined, poor tackling, and always confused.

And yet they made it to the semifinals, and were in a position to win. He's better than he was given credit. I think he had the distinction of being DC as the cracks were showing in our personnel dominance.

The big thing will be his ability to reload the roster for next year.

He got credit for that. And may well in deed be such....
But. That was really Bama brand and Nick Saban

At The Sip I bet that was Kiffin......
I didnt like him as DC...i thought he had gold mine of talent....and had some atrocious games...

But...he got credit as good recruiter...and if so....he may be a good HC....
Sure cleaned his scruffy appearance up......
I liked the scruffy better...looked like a mean dog...

I thought he transitioned into head coach speak pretty well...we'll see if the rest follows suit.

I watched the entire game thinking OK it's time for Beck to shit the bed on this 3rd down. Instead, he played very well under max pressure those last 6 minutes.

Congrats to both UM and UM. Wait.

Mario has some sure enough thugs (not as many as normal at Miami but several). Miami secondary tackles like they intend to get your attention.

If you remember the Penn St vs Miami Fiesta Bowl in the 80's-Miami showing up in fatigues, belligerent, attention seeking ----- (I implied it, but didn't type it, you know the t word). The defensive game plan of PSU was to "make them pay" for catching the pass-It worked and it was a glorious day for all of us dinosaurs that believe character and behavior can add class to your program and there is no place for "look at me" in athletic contests.
