Ever since they started the CFP, I've wondered if the bowl games should be part of it. Or should they be separate from the CFP and the playoff games just stand on their own?
Yes, higher seeded teams get home field advantage. It becomes a big deal on that level, easily for the cold weather teams. But one of the very few things I like about this current College Football Playoff setup is, they make the first round on campus (which I think is neat) but move the second round to the more neutral bowl sites.
Looking at the general slate of bowl games, there are some real stinkers, but I'm interested how unranked SEC teams will fare against ranked opponents (LSU vs. #21 Houston, Mizzou vs. #19 UVA). Also, Troy/Jax State in the Cramton Bowl is a throwback. It'll be the 64th meeting between the teams, and the first since 2001.
Several teams opting out and leaving teams with losing records "rewarded" with bowl game....
Remember when being invited to a bowl was the ultimate reward....
Now.....not so much....and so many players opting out ....which ...in itself...is so stupid...
A final chance to play organized football...
And the move to 16 or more in cfp ....might see bowls without a team....
