🏈 GAME THREAD 🏈 The 2026 Bowl Games / CFB Playoffs:

IF you're up and catch the SC from last night, GMac has a ... well.

Since Ohio State had its bye week and the extra rest they were at a disadvantage because of the rest and the game was at a neutral site.

So, in an effort to fix that...move to 16 games, give four a week off, then a home game then they start.

To me it seems like a lot in the media have forgotten Day's seat was getting warm until OSU went "all in" on NIL. I'd argue that saved his job on the same level as Harbaugh's actions left an easier B1G.

I don’t know about the time off aspect, but the fact CKD has coached in a “playoff” style post season, to me, is an underrated advantage that he has - going back to his NAIA days at Sioux Falls.
We have to begin to understand the parameters of logic.

IF a team plays in the SECCG, it is a disandvantage because another team is at home resting and will still get a spot in the playoffs. (See Ole Miss this season.)

IF a team gets an extra week off, it is at a disadvantage because the other teams have been playing instead of resting. (See Ohio State last night)

IF all else fails, let's make the problem playoff bigger. (See the current state of post season collegiate football...)

Texas Tech’s offense has come out looking flat pitiful. 3 possessions, 1 yard of offense and an INT. They make our start to the Georgia game look fast. Let’s see if they can wake up, or if they will be the next team that had a bye to take a loss.

FWIW, remember there's more than one feed to this game. ESPN2 has the SkyCast (no Jess and Tess) and the U has the command center.
Right now I'm watching the game on SkyCast. I try the The Command Center but it had to much crap going on for me to watch the game. Also I don't have to listen to Joe and Jesse. But I won't be doing this during the Bama game. I will listen to Kirk and Chris.

If you look at the roster you'll find the money was spent on the defense. Consider what they'd have if they would have bought a QB?
Their D has been solid. 3 of Oregon’s 6 points came on the short field after a turnover. Tech’s offense is as bad as their defense is good. The one offensive play they had was a busted run where the RB got bottled up and tried the other direction. Got them 50 of their 88 yards for the half.
