šŸ“” Alabama Vice President for Student Life Myron Pope was arrested Thursday on charges of soliciting prostitution.

Not completely sure what you mean... but I'm saying it seems like UA knew and sat on it (likely from a PR standpoint and partly to get their ducks in a row) until word got out, then they immediately released a statement with his resignation. Sounds like this was a TPD sting though, so his name would have been coming out soon via a TPD press release anyway... I just think UA wanted it out on Friday night.
What I mean is that Thursday has 24 hours. Did the arrest come at 1 am in the morning (1 hour into the day) or at 10 pm (22 hours into the day - two hours before Friday)?

Sorry for being dense, but I fail to see what time he was arrested on Thursday has to do with UA wanting to wait until Friday evening to release a statement. Anyway, it was apparently Thursday night when he got popped.

There needs to be time for him to be released, maybe get some sleep, write his resignation, possibly meet with the president and for the school to prepare a statement. Some of these things are difficult to do in the middle of the night when people aren’t working. Once the press release is sent to the media, the press needs to investigate (check police records, interview any witnesses, get statements) before they post a story. Thursday night to Friday afternoon/evening isn’t that long. In terms of magnitude of events, this isn’t critical.

I think we are on different roads here, traveling in different directions. The press found out because it was leaked, which forced UA to release their statement soon after. Pope might not have gone to jail on Thursday night (if he did, it wasn't for long), regardless, he was smart enough to know he had to resign (or be fired) the minute he realized it was an undercover sting.

Can we help @OldPlayer Learn of where to find this kind of trouble. He was asking for a friend.
