| FTBL šŸ˜ Alabama Roster and Portal Management Chart

Itā€™s crazy to consider all the money that went into the so called college football arms race over the last several decades wherein athletic departments kept adding more bells and whistles to their infrastructure to attract the best players.

Now in the NIL era, any small school can attract blue chips with enough cash on hand. Just goes to show how little players value all that the traditional top tier programs offer compared to cold hard cash. This makes me wonder if schools like Bama have already begun to lay off support personnel of all sorts to bolster NIL offers. Anyone in the know??

I like the Calhoun signing... Morgan is obviously familiar with him off the field which IMO is a big deal... it can be hard to get a read on these portal guys if you don't have a history with them since it isn't like traditional recruiting that stretches out over months. But it was a needed piece and he's a young guy with good experience who will get better.

On Horton, the WR out of Miami mentioned earlier... He's been a portal version of a silent commit, which I don't think is a big secret... but I'm a fan. He's a guy who has a big fram the staff wants, also has experience, and should step in and help on day 1.

This staff is taking their time, not rushing. Things will fall into place... remember, the portalis open for a while and there's still a good amount of players that haven't finished playing and entered yet....

If so, he's changed his mind VERY recently. He's expected back.
Two reasons I say this.
1). I don't see any reason to get another corner in the portal if we're expecting Jackson to stay. Maybe we'll try to move him around to other positions, like Nickelback. But the guy has always played at corner, and was really good at playing there when he was at Utah. He's a physical player, so moving him to nickel wouldn't hurt him in that aspect, but there would be new responsibilities at the position he'd have to learn. And if we did do that, he'd have a whole spring and fall camp to get it down, but to go from playing outside to inside is a pretty big change to someone who's never done it. And going off how often we rotated players this season in the secondary, my point could be moot anyway.
2). He slowly been getting higher and higher draft grades. I think the average is he'll be taken in the 3rd round, but I know some have him going into the 2nd. If that gets to be the consistent consensus, then I think he leaves.

Im more than likely reading too much into this, and he does return. And if your sources are saying he is, then I'm taking your word on it. They've been right.... a lot.

I like Horton if we do indeed get him. It's nice to have a big bodied receiver who can stress out secondaries. Lord knows we have always had to deal with them, Alshon Jeffrey, Mike Williams, Tee Higgins, Justyn Ross..... these guys brutalized us at some point in their careers, our guys could not cover them.

Alshon Jeffrey.
Off topic, but bringing up his name just made me remember when we played them in 2009. I'll never forget spurrier trying to force it to him 3 straight times in the goal line. Not a bad strategy, because he usually won those, we just had his number in that drive. It also makes me laugh that he basically told the rest of his receivers to "eat shit, we're throwing if to Jeffrey".

Given the recent news... I think Staff sits back and monitor the portal for next two weeks. All eyes is on Ohio State right now especially if they exit out of playoff early.

Yeah, Day is seemingly on very thin ice. He's a good coach, but losing to Michigan the way he has has overshadowed every good thing he's done there up to this point. They better do their due diligence if they do decide to get rid of him if they lose, they could set themselves back. I've seen Urban's name come up, but he's said he's not interested(probably lying), and Vrables name as well.

Vrables is the name that keeps coming up.

I know Ohio State will get raided hard by SEC teams, BIG ten and It's going to be a struggle.

He's like a Larry Coker to me. Inherited a Ferrari and can't keep up with the oil changes, buy still a Ferrari when you hit the gas.

I canā€™t imagine them really giving up on Day based on his record. He has them competing towards the top every year.
